The Major League Baseball trade deadline is in one week, and contenders are expected to actively improve their rosters in hopes of making a deep run in October. Here are 15 international MLB players who may be traded.
1. Eugenio Suárez, 3B, Arizona Diamondbacks (Venezuela)
Suárez is considered one of the most coveted players at this year’s trade deadline. The Diamondbacks are reportedly making him and other stars available, according to USA Today’s Bob Nightengale. He was named an All-Star for the second time in his career this season, as he owns a .924 OPS, leads the National League in home runs and tops all of MLB in RBIs. He is set to become a free agent after the season, and the Diamondbacks are five and a half games out of a wild-card spot.
Eugenio Suárez last 162 games:
.276 BA
167 hits
55 home runs
37 RBIs
114 runs
.936 OPS ‼️From almost being DFA to one of the best 3rd baseman in baseball. An incredible run 🫡

2. Jhoan Durán, RHP, Minnesota Twins (Dominican Republic)
The Twins are listening to offers for Durán, but a team must present an overwhelmingly strong offer, according to Jon Heyman. He has posted a 1.94 ERA and 15 saves this year. Durán could improve any bullpen and is under club control through 2027. His splitter, four-seam fastball, curveball, and sweeper all challenge opposing hitters.
3. Marcell Ozuna, DH (Dominican Republic)
The Atlanta Braves have indicated that Ozuna will not be the regular designated hitter moving forward. He will be a free agent after the season, and the Braves will attempt to find a trade partner so he does not walk in free agency for nothing in return. Ozuna isn’t having an All-Star level season this year, hitting .235, though his 112 OPS+ may still entice a contending team.
4. Edward Cabrera, RHP, Miami Marlins (Dominican Republic)
Despite Cabrera being under team control through 2028, he may be traded by the Marlins. He is on track to make a career high in starts after battling various injuries. Cabrera sports a 3.48 ERA after posting a 4.32 ERA over the past four seasons. He could be valuable for a team needing pitching help if they trust he can remain healthy.
5. Félix Bautista, RHP, Baltimore Orioles (Dominican Republic)
Few teams are locked in as sellers, but the Orioles, who are nine and a half games back of a wild-card spot, appear ready to move key players. Bautista, a former All-Star and the 2023 Mariano Rivera American League Reliever of the Year, has a 2.60 ERA this season after missing all of last year. He may alter the tenor of any bullpen and owns a 1.13 ERA since June began. It may take a significant package to acquire him.

6. Adolis García, OF, Texas Rangers (Cuba)
The Rangers may buy, stand pat or sell at the deadline. They are just one and a half games out of a wild-card spot, but a poor week could change their plans. García is a free agent after next season and is struggling, with just a .678 OPS over his last 252 games. The Rangers could trade him to a team in need of an outfielder while he retains value. García was an All-Star in 2023 and had a historic postseason offensively as the Rangers won the 2023 World Series.
7. Sandy Alcántara, RHP, Miami Marlins (Dominican Republic)
Entering the season, many expected Alcántara to be a prominent trade target. The 2022 NL Cy Young Award winner struggled in 2023 and missed all of last season. He has not performed well this year, but remains under club control through 2027. The Marlins may keep him in hopes his value rebounds, but a pitching-needy team may make a strong offer.
8. Ramón Laureano, OF, Baltimore Orioles (Dominican Republic)
Jarren Duran of the Boston Red Sox might be the top outfield trade target, but Laureano is an attractive alternative. He has a .279/.341/.520 slash line this year, and the Orioles are already out of contention. Laureano has a $6.5 million club option for next season and may be a cost-effective pickup for clubs needing an outfielder.
9. Luis Robert Jr., OF, Chicago White Sox (Cuba)
Robert, a former All-Star, has struggled this season. He holds $20 million club options for the next two seasons, but those will likely be declined, making him effectively a rental with upside. Although injury-prone, Robert excelled in his first healthy season, earning an All-Star selection and a Silver Slugger. He has a .636 OPS and 10 home runs in 2025, but a strong last month where he is slashing .345/.441/.586 has certainly boosted his late trade value.

10. José Quintana, LHP, Milwaukee Brewers (Colombia)
Although the Brewers have the best record in baseball, they have the depth to consider trading a starter. Nestor Cortes is returning from injury, Logan Henderson waits in Triple-A after four solid MLB starts this season and the combination of Aaron Ashby and DL Hall can help fill rotation spots. Quintana will be a free agent after the season, so the team could leverage him for offensive help.
11. Josh Naylor, 1B, Arizona Diamondbacks (Canada)
Arizona is making Naylor available, per USA Today’s Bob Nightengale. Clubs in need of a first baseman should inquire about the former All-Star, who is slashing .293/.361/.449 with 11 home runs and 58 RBIs. If the Diamondbacks decide to sell, Naylor should net a solid return as a free agent after this season.
12. Emmanuel Clase, RHP, Cleveland Guardians (Dominican Republic)
The three-time All-Star reliever may command a huge trade haul, but the Guardians are willing to listen to offers on both Clase and Canadian reliever Cade Smith, according to Heyman. Clase posted a 0.61 ERA last year to lead the AL in saves. This season, he has a 2.80 ERA, or 1.14 since May. Under team control through 2028, Clase is considered an elite reliever, with a 1.77 ERA, 179 saves, and two Reliever of the Year awards since 2021.

13. Raisel Iglesias, RHP, Atlanta Braves (Cuba)
The Braves may have difficulty finding a trade partner for Iglesias, but he will be a free agent after the season and Atlanta appears to have no place for him. Iglesias owns a 4.99 ERA this season, breaking his pattern of strong years. From 2020 through 2024, he registered a 2.44 ERA and 126 saves. Another club may take a chance on him.
14. Gregory Soto, LHP, Baltimore Orioles (Dominican Republic)
The two-time All-Star is set to become a free agent after the season and is a very likely trade candidate. Soto owns a 4.08 ERA but can help any bullpen in need of a left-hander.
15. Willi Castro, UTL, Minnesota Twins (Puerto Rico)
Castro was an All-Star last season and has improved across the board this year, slashing .257/.347/.431 with 10 home runs. He is set for free agency after the season and could be a valuable addition for a team needing offense. The switch-hitter can play second, shortstop, third, or outfield.
