Notable shifts occurred within the rankings. Austria (6th) made the most significant advancement, climbing six places. Greece (11th) gained three positions, while Switzerland rose two spots to 15th. Sweden (16th) improved significantly as well, advancing four places.

Israel (9th) and Ireland (12th) dropped three positions. Poland (13th), Slovakia (17th), and Belgium (18th) fell two places.

Malta (20th), Bulgaria (23rd), and Türkiye (24th) made progress, each improving their positions slightly.

The 2024 rankings include 25 nations, with a total of 57,037.5 points.

This marks an increase in total points compared to 2023 when 26 nations gathered 50,462.5 points overall.

The rankings are calculated based on the results of recent European Championships. Events taken into consideration include the 2024 Women’s EuroSoftball Senior Championship, weighted at 100%, the 2022 Women’s EuroSoftball Senior Championship, weighted at 50%, and championships across other categories, such as U-18, U-22, and U-15, with varying weightings from 13% to 50%.

Men’s Softball

In the absence of Men’s Softball national team competitions during the 2024 season, the Men’s Fastpitch European Rankings remain unchanged from the 2023 season.

Czechia leads the rankings with 2,237.5 points, followed by Denmark in second place with 1,887.5 points. Israel holds the third position with 1,375 points.

The Men’s Softball European Rankings features a total of thirteen nations with a total of 11625 points.

Slowpitch

In the 2024 European Slowpitch Rankings, Great Britain remains at the top of the rankings with 2400 points, maintaining its dominance as the leading nation in European slowpitch.

Germany follows in second place with 1900 points, reflecting consistent performances over the years. The Netherlands holds the third position with 1700 points.

Thanks to the bronze medal at the Coed Slowpitch Euros in 2024, Czechia has climbed to fourth place with 1300 points, tying with Ireland, which now shares the same total points.

Belgium is positioned sixth with 850 points, while Austria has advanced to seventh place, overtaking Italy, which has dropped to eighth.

Norway makes its debut in ninth place, marking an entrance into the rankings, alongside Slovenia, which shares the same point total. Serbia, now in eleventh place, has slipped down one position compared to the previous rankings.

These rankings were calculated based on performances in the 2024 Coed Slowpitch European Championship, which carried a 100% weighting, the 2022 Men’s Slowpitch European Championship with the same weighting, the 2022 Coed Slowpitch European Championship with a 50% weighting, and the 2018 Men’s Slowpitch European Championship, also weighted at 50%.

Ranking Methodology

The European Softball ranking system operates on a points-based structure, multiplied by 100, with points awarded based on final standings at European Championships in all categories.

The weighting system allocates 100% to the Senior European Championships, 50% to the U-18 European Championships, and 25% to all other categories (U-22 and U-15 for women’s softball and U-18 and U-16 for men’s softball).

The rankings consider only the two most recent championships in each category, with a 100% weighting for the most recent and 50% for the previous championship.

The cumulative points determine each country’s placement in the rankings.
