After finishing atop the standings last winter, Cardenales de Lara will return to action this fall as the 2025-26 Liga Venezolana de Beisbol Profesional season gets underway. According to IVC Venezuela reporter and broadcaster Carlos V. Rodriguez on May 30, the regular season will begin October 15 and feature 56 games ahead of the league’s Round Robin in late December and early January.

Rodriguez also reported on May 30 that the league will take a few more days to announce the full schedule for the 2025-26 regular season. The 2024-25 LVBP champion, Cardenales de Lara, will open play on October 15, with the rest of the teams beginning their seasons on October 16.

Rodriguez stated on May 31 that the 2025-26 LVBP season will feature a Round Robin phase, with the top two teams advancing to a best-of-seven championship series before the 2026 Caribbean Series.

Last season, the Cardenales de Lara, managed by Henry Blanco, reached the 2025 Caribbean Series in Mexicali after defeating the Bravos de Margarita in six games in the 2024-25 LVBP championship series on January 26. Cardenales won the regular season title with a 33-23 record.

2025-26 LVBP Season Rundown
The LVBP Round Robin will be held between late December and early January, followed by a best-of-seven championship series that will begin before the 2026 Caribbean Series in Caracas, Venezuela, from January 30 to February 7. Main venues for the tournament include Estadio Simón Bolívar, Estadio Fórum de La Guaira, and Estadio Universitario.
The winners of the 2025-26 seasons from the Liga Venezolana de Beisbol Profesional, the Liga de Beisbol Profesional Roberto Clemente in Puerto Rico, the Liga de Béisbol Profesional de la República Dominicana, and the Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacífico will qualify for the 2026 Caribbean Series.
The LAMP, LVBP, LIDOM, and LBPRC are all part of the Confederación de Béisbol Profesional del Caribe (CBPC).
The 2026 Caribbean Series will again feature the Japan Breeze, who debuted in the 2025 event, along with Cuba’s 2025-26 Serie Nacional champion. South Korea will send an All-Star team composed of KBO minor league and main roster players. Italy’s representative will be either the 2025 Serie A1 champion or a hand-selected All-Star squad serving as a scouting platform for the 2026 World Baseball Classic.
The eight teams participating in the 2025-26 LVBP regular season are the Navegantes del Magallanes, Leones del Caracas, Cardenales de Lara, Caribes de Anzoátegui, Bravos de Margarita, Tigres de Aragua, Águilas del Zulia, and Tiburones de La Guaira.
