The Collegiate National Team will compete in the USA vs. Japan Collegiate All-Star Championship Series from July 8-13 in Japan. Players not selected will play in the Fourth of July game against the Appalachian League Select Team, per USA Baseball.
“We had an incredibly deep pool of players to select from for this year’s Collegiate National Team Training Camp, and we are confident that the fifty-six players will deliver an incredible on-field product for our annual Stars versus Stripes series,” USA Baseball’s general manager, Eric Campbell, said. “We are excited to get things underway this weekend.”
These invites come about a week after Team USA announced the coaching staff for both Team Stars and Team Stripes on Jun. 17.
Training camp features 14 USA Baseball Alumni. Of the 56 players attending, 22 play in the Atlantic Coast Conference and 12 play in the Southeastern Conference.
Players of note include Eric Becker, Drew Burress, Roch Cholowsky, Gabe Gaeckle, Juan Cruz, and KJ Scobey.
