The 2025 Copa America de Beisbol will be played entirely in Panama, with the WBSC Americas announcing late Wednesday night that Venezuela has been dropped as a host.
This is the second change in host venues for group play for the inaugural Copa America, which had originally been planned to be held in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico at El Nido de Las Aguilas and Estadio Mariano Rivera in La Chorrera, Panama. In August, the WBSC announced that Caracas, Venezuela, was replacing Mexicali.
“Venezuela made every logistical effort to have one of the groups held in its country, but Panama will ultimately host both groups and all the event’s games,” the WBSC Americas said in a release announcing the tournament’s rescheduling.
With the entire tournament being played in Panama, Group B, with Panama, Puerto Rico, Canada, Colombia, Brazil, and Argentina, will still be played at Estadio Mariano Rivera, while Group A, featuring Venezuela, the Dominican Republic, Curaçao, Mexico, Nicaragua, and Cuba, will be played at another venue. The WBSC Americas said that details on where Group A would be played will be announced next week.
The twelve participating teams and groups remain unchanged, with the Opening Round starting on Nov. 13, the Super Round on Nov. 19, and the Medal Round on Nov. 22.
