In the bottom of the seventh, Juan Carlos Gamboa led off with a ground ball to shortstop Cesar Izturis Jr., with Sandber Pimentel coming off the base on an errant throw.
Moments later, Jasson Attondo bunted for a base hit. Pimentel threw to first base, where Alexi Amarista was covering, but Attondo beat the throw.
Brandon Villareal then laid down a sacrifice bunt fielded by reliever Tomohiro Anaruku, with Amarista covering first for the out. Gamboa advanced to third and Attondo to second.
Victor Mendoza drew a walk to load the bases, and Gamboa scored on a bases-loaded walk to tie the game at 3-3.
Jesus Fabela grounded to Izturis Jr., who flipped to Amarista for the second out, but Amarista couldn’t get a grip on the ball to fire to first. Attondo came around to score the winning run, sealing a 4-3 victory for the Mexico National Team in front of the home crowd at Estadio Alfredo Harp Helu.
The game was delayed after the top of the first inning on Sunday, June 29.
