2025 Liga Mexicana de Beisbol All-Star Game: Mexico National Team vs. LMB All-Stars

MEXICO CITY – On a breezy and cloudy Monday afternoon at the 2025 Liga Mexicana de Beisbol All-Star Game at Estadio Alfredo Harp Helu, the Mexico National Team won 4-3 over the LMB All-Star Team in the bottom of the seventh inning on a game-winning fielder’s choice ground ball to second base off the bat of Jesus Fabela, scoring Jasson Attondo.

Mexico National Team and Leones de Yucatán designated hitter Art Charles was named MVP of the 2025 LMB All-Star Game. He went 3-for-3 with a two-run home run in the bottom of the sixth inning, a triple in the fourth, and a single in the second.

2025 LMB All-Star Game Replay

The game was originally scheduled for 9 p.m. EDT on Sunday, June 29, but was postponed due to rain. A four-and-a-half-hour weather delay pushed the event to Monday.

The 2025 LMB All-Star Game was set to last 10 innings in honor of the league’s 100th anniversary, but the top of the first inning was interrupted due to inclement weather.

Diablos Rojos del México manager Lorenzo Bundy led the LMB All-Star Team, while the Mexico National Team was managed by Salón de la Fama del Béisbol Mexicano member and two-time MLB All-Star Vinny Castilla.

Prior to the game, the LMB’s 2024 season awards were handed out by league president Horacio de la Vega.

Robinson Cano of the Diablos Rojos del México was named Most Valuable Player.
Trevor Bauer of the Diablos Rojos del México earned Pitcher of the Year.
Alexi Amarista of the Guerreros de Oaxaca won Comeback Player of the Year.
Fernando Salas of the Olmecas de Tabasco was named Reliever of the Year.
Denny Roman of the Sultanes de Monterrey took home Rookie of the Year honors.
Franklin Barreto of the Diablos Rojos del México was named Defensive Player of the Year.
Jose Offerman of the Conspiradores de Querétaro was selected Manager of the Year.
Santiago Harp of the Diablos Rojos del México received Executive of the Year.

On Sunday, June 29, Mexican singer Carolina Ross capped off the night with the national anthem, joined by the army in center field at Estadio Alfredo Harp Helu.

2025 LMB All-Star Game Recap

LMB All-Star and Diablos Rojos del México designated hitter Robinson Cano cracked a solo home run over the right-center field wall off reliever Yoanner Negrin in the top of the fourth inning to make it 1-0.

In the fifth, LMB All-Star catcher Francisco Mejía smacked a double to center field, scoring Angel Reyes to extend the lead to 2-0. Shortly after, pinch hitter Connor Hollis lifted a sacrifice fly to center field, scoring Mejía to push the lead to 3-0.

The Mexico National Team got on the board in the bottom of the sixth, when Leones de Yucatán designated hitter Art Charles launched a two-run home run to center off reliever Paul Fry, scoring Jesus Fabela and cutting the deficit to 3-2.

In the bottom of the seventh, Juan Carlos Gamboa led off with a ground ball to shortstop Cesar Izturis Jr., with Sandber Pimentel coming off the base on an errant throw.

Moments later, Jasson Attondo bunted for a base hit. Pimentel threw to first base, where Alexi Amarista was covering, but Attondo beat the throw.

Brandon Villareal then laid down a sacrifice bunt fielded by reliever Tomohiro Anaruku, with Amarista covering first for the out. Gamboa advanced to third and Attondo to second.

Victor Mendoza drew a walk to load the bases, and Gamboa scored on a bases-loaded walk to tie the game at 3-3.

Jesus Fabela grounded to Izturis Jr., who flipped to Amarista for the second out, but Amarista couldn’t get a grip on the ball to fire to first. Attondo came around to score the winning run, sealing a 4-3 victory for the Mexico National Team in front of the home crowd at Estadio Alfredo Harp Helu.

LMB 2025 ASG Rain Delay Information

The game was delayed after the top of the first inning on Sunday, June 29.

During the delay, fans were treated to a drone and fireworks show.

At 1:35 a.m. EDT, the league confirmed the game would resume on Monday, June 30.

The LMB confirmed that the Toros de Tijuana vs. Acereros de Monclova series, originally scheduled for June 30, was pushed to July 1-2.

The 2025 Liga Mexicana de Beisbol regular season resumed this evening, with games already underway.
