2025 Shriners Children’s College Showdown: Day Three Takeaways

ARLINGTON, Texas- On Sunday, the final set of games was played during the 2025 Shriners Children’s College Showdown. Here are some takeaways from those three matchups.  

Game One: Louisville Cardinals 13, Arizona Wildcats 1 (8 inn.) 

  • Arizona freshman starter Smith Bailey with a great debut  
  • 4.0 IP, 0 ER, 5 K 
  • Upon Bailey’s exit, Louisville responded to a 1-0 deficit with an eight-run inning 
  • Eddie King Jr. had a nice game (3-5, 3 RBI, 3B) 

Game Two: Ole Miss Rebels 15, Clemson Tigers 5 (7 inn.) 

  • Ole Miss looked like a very different team from the one that played against Texas 
  • Clemson’s pitching was not good  
  • No pitcher went more than two innings 
  • Rebel second baseman Luke Hill had two home runs  
  • Four home runs for Ole Miss as a team in the game  

Game Three: Texas Longhorns 14, Oklahoma State Cowboys 8 

  • Will Gasparino put a stamp on him being the best player in Arlington with another great game 
  • 2-5, 4 RBI, 2B, HR 
  • Max Belyeu with another great game himself 
  • 4-5, 2 RBI, 3 R, 2B, HR
  • Costly errors by Oklahoma State allowed Texas to have an explosive eight-run fifth-inning
