2026 Austin Super Regional Preview

The Texas Longhorns (43-13, 19-10 SEC) are hosting the Oregon Ducks (43-16, 20-10 Big Ten) in the 2026 Austin super regional at Disch-Falk Field.

Texas is in a super regional again for the first time since 2023 in head coach Jim Schlossnagle’s second season. Oregon is in a super regional for the second time in three seasons.

Here is World Baseball Network’s preview of the 2026 Austin super regional.

Texas sweeps through the Austin regional

The Texas Longhorns worked their way through the Austin regional at Disch-Falk Field with ease.

The Longhorns put up 41 runs in their wins against Holy Cross, Tarleton State, and UC Santa Barbara. The Texas offense scored over 15 runs in their first two games of the regional last weekend.

In the first two games, Texas had the home run ball working in a big way. The Longhorns hit 11 home runs in their first wins they had over Holy Cross and Tarleton State.

The pitching for Texas throughout the regional looked great, too. The Longhorns allowed seven runs all weekend and struck out 29 hitters during the three games.

Oregon pitching excels during the Eugene regional

The Oregon Ducks had top-tier pitching as they won the regional championship at PK Park in Eugene.

The Ducks allowed three runs all weekend during three wins against Yale, Washington State, and Oregon State. In their second game of the regional against Washington State, they shut out the Cougars in a 4-0 win.

Oregon struck out 47 hitters. They reached at least 14 strikeouts in all three games at PK Park this past weekend. In the shutout win over Washington State, Oregon’s starting pitcher Will Sanford had 14 strikeouts.

The Ducks will face their toughest opponent of the NCAA Tournament so far in Texas. However, with the pitching that the Ducks showed last weekend, they can hold down the Longhorns’ lineup.
