2026 Caribbean Series Rosters Confirmed for LAMP Finalists Charros de Jalisco and Tomateros de Culiacán

The 2025-26 Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacifico champion, Charros de Jalisco and the Tomateros de Culiacán announced their official rosters for the 2026 Caribbean Series on January 27.

The 2026 Caribbean Series will take place from February 1-7 in Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico at Estadio Panamericano.

Estadio Panamericano is home to the Charros de Jalisco.

The champions in the 2025-26 winter league seasons that will be represented at the 2026 Caribbean Series are from the Liga de Béisbol Profesional Roberto Clemente in Puerto Rico, the Liga de Béisbol Profesional de la República Dominicana, and the first and second place finishers in LAMP, alongside Panama.

The teams participating in the 2026 Caribbean Series are the top-two finishers from LAMP with the Charros de Jalisco and Tomateros de Culiacán, the Panama ProBeis franchise Federales de Chiriquí, the Cangrejeros de Santurce of the LBPRC, and the Leones del Escogido of LIDOM.

The Tomateros de Culiacán are categorized as the Mexico Green Team and the Charros de Jalisco are the Mexico Red Team.

All stats for the 2025-26 LAMP season are located on LMP.MX.

The Liga Venezolana de Beisbol Profesional will not play in the 2026 Caribbean Series and are a member of the Confederacion de Beisbol Profesional del Caribe.

The 2025-26 LVBP champion will play at the 2026 Serie de Las Americas event in Caracas, Venezuela, instead of the 2026 Caribbean Series.

The Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and Mexico are also members of the CBPC.

The last time that Venezuela did not play in the Caribbean Series was in 1974, when the league had a players strike, and the top-two finishers of the LMP, the Venados de Mazatlán and Yaquis de Obregón were the other representatives that appeared at the event, besides the winners, the Tigres del Licey for the Dominican Republic and the Criollos de Caguas for Puerto Rico played in Hermosillo, Mexico at Estadio Héctor Espino.

The Charros de Jalisco swept the Tomateros de Culiacán on January 25 in the LAMP best-of-seven championship series.

 

Charros de Jalisco and Mexico 2026 World Baseball Classic manager Benji Gil has managed in the Caribbean Series in 2015, 2018, 2020, 2021, and 2025, prior to the 2026 event.

Julián Ornelas for the Charros de Jalisco was named the MVP for the LAMP championship series.

 

The Tomateros de Culiacán will play their first game of the 2026 Caribbean Series on February 1 at 2 p.m. EST against the Cangrejeros de Santurce and the Charros de Jalisco will play on the same date at 8:30 p.m. EST against the Leones del Escogido.

Mexico has hosted the Caribbean Series in Hermosillo in 1974, 1982, 1987, 1992, 1997, and 2013. The city of Mazatlán has hosted the Caribbean Series in 1978, 1989, 1993, 2005, and 2021. Culiacán held the event in 2001 and 2017 alongside Guadalajara in 2018. Mexicali hosted the 2009 and 2025 events.

Mexico has won the Caribbean Series nine times in 1976, 1986, 1996, 2002, 2005, 2011, 2013, 2014, and 2016.

The Cañeros de Los Mochis made the Caribbean Series in 1984, 2002, and 2023. The Tomateros de Culiacán won Caribbean Series championships in 1996 and 2002 and have appeared in the event in 1978, 1983, 1985, 1997, 2004, 2015, 2018, 2020, and 2021. The Charros de Jalisco have played in the Caribbean Series in 2019, 2022 and 2025. The Algodoneros de Guasave appeared in 1972. The Naranjeros de Hermosillo have appeared in the tournament in 1971, 1976, 1980, 1982, 1990, 1992, 1994, 1995, 2001, 2007, 2010, and 2024 and won in 1976 and 2014. The Venados de Mazatlán appeared in 1977, 1987, 1993, 1998, 2005, 2006, 2009, 2016 and won in 2005 and 2016. The Yaquis de Obregón have appeared in 1973, 1981, 2008, and 2012 and won in 2011 and 2013.

Mexico first participated in the Caribbean Series in 1971 with the Naranjeros de Hermosillo at Hiram Bithorn Stadium in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

The only teams from Mexico with multiple Caribbean Series championships are the Tomateros de Culiacán, the Naranjeros de Hermosillo, the Venados de Mazatlán, and the Yaquis de Obregón. The Águilas de Mexicali won one Caribbean Series title in 1986.
