2026 Frisco College Baseball Classic Field of Teams Announced

On Tuesday, the field of four teams for the 2026 Frisco College Baseball Classic was announced.

The Oregon State Beavers, Alabama Crimson Tide, Houston Cougars, and Iowa Hawkeyes will all play in this upcoming season’s event.

The Frisco College Baseball Classic will be from February 27 through March 1 at Riders Field in Frisco. The ballpark is usually home to the Frisco RoughRiders, the Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers.

Breaking Down the Four Teams in the 2026 Frisco College Baseball Classic

Oregon State will arguably be the event’s headlining team in 2026. In 2025, the Beavers made it to the College World Series in Omaha for the eighth time ever.

They had a 48-16-1 overall record and were the eighth overall national seed in the 2025 NCAA Tournament.

Alabama had a 41-18 overall record and were 16-14 in SEC play in 2025. They made the NCAA Tournament for the third straight season and were the two-seed in the Hattiesburg regional.

Two losses to the Southern Miss Golden Eagles and Miami Hurricanes ended their season.

The Houston Cougars went 30-25 overall in 2025 and were 12-17 in Big 12 play. Despite a short-lived postseason run, the Cougars defeated Kansas State in the Big 12 Tournament 9-2 before being knocked out by TCU.

Iowa had a largely successful regular season in 2025. They were 33-22 overall and were an excellent 21-9 in Big Ten play.

The Hawkeyes finished third in the Big Ten behind only the co-regular season champions, Oregon and UCLA.
