Below are Saturday’s results from the three games played, and the remaining schedule for the tournament. The third-place game and championship game will occur Saturday, Feb. 13.

Panama 3, Colombia 2

Panama received six innings of one-run ball from starter Luis Escobar to improve to a perfect 3-0 in this year’s tournament. Escobar struck out five, and relievers Kevin Rodriguez and Jorge Bautista combined to allow one earned run over the last three frames.

Outfielder Edgard Munoz went 2-for-4 with a run scored for Panama, and shortstop Brainer Bonaci added an RBI single in the bottom of the fifth to extend the advantage to three. Colombia scored a run in the seventh and ninth but fell short of a rally.

Curacao 7, Nicaragua 3

Curacao collected 16 hits to win their first game of the Serie de Las Americas. Hendrik Clementina, Jecksson Flores, and Erickson Leonora each had three hits and one or more RBIs. Clementina led the way with three runs driven home.

Tied at one in the sixth, Curacao erupted for five runs against Nicaragua’s Luis Ramirez and Naswell Paulino. Right-hander Mikell Manzano allowed just one earned run on five hits in five innings in the start for Curacao.

Venezuela 8, Cuba 4

Seven of the 12 runs scored came in the first inning. Cuba broke through for three runs in the top of the frame, but Venezuela’s Rougned Odor responded with a go-ahead grand slam in the bottom half. Former Major League shortstop Luis Sardinas had two RBIs for Venezuela.

Cuba’s starter, Jose Bermudez, managed to record just one out, as he was removed from the contest following Odor’s grand salami. Six Venezuela relievers held Cuba’s offense scoreless following Emilio Vargas’ four-run, 4 ⅔ innings outing.
