The 2025-26 winter league seasons in the Caribbean, Asia, and Australia are just under way, prior to the 2026 World Baseball Classic this upcoming March.
This upcoming winter league season will have a lot of implications on how all the national teams will end up building their rosters, with certain scouting abbreviations with officials from the participating countries that will be playing in the 2026 WBC.
All of the winter leagues for the 2025-26 season with the Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacifico, the Liga Venezolana de Beisbol Profesional, and the Liga de Beisbol Profesional de la Republica Dominicana begin on October 15. The Liga de Beisbol Profesional Nacional de Nicaragua will begin on November 4. The Liga de Beisbol Profesional Roberto Clemente in Puerto Rico will begin on November 7. The Australian Baseball League will start on November 13. The Serie Nacional in Cuba has already begun since the league started up on September 1.
The Liga Profesional de Beisbol Colombia and the Liga Profesional de Beisbol de Panama (ProBeis) have not announced when they will start their leagues for the 2025-26 winter league season.

The Curacao Professional Baseball League has not yet announced if they will participate in the 2026 Caribbean Series. All of their information is located here: https://curacaobaseball.wbsc.org/en/calendar.
The Caribbean Series, which is hosted by the Confederacion de Beisbol Profesional del Caribe, will be the ending of the 2025-26 winter league season, prior to the Major League Baseball season starting with pitchers and catchers reporting, along with the spring training seasons in the Cactus League in Arizona and the Grapefruit League in Florida.
The 2026 Caribbean Series will be held in Caracas, Venezuela, from January 30 until February 7 at Estadio Monumental de Caracas Simon Bolivar and Estadio Forum La Guaira in Macuto, Venezuela.
The only participating leagues for the 2026 Caribbean Series are host nation LVBP, LIDOM, LBPRC, LAMP, LPBC, and the Serie Nacional. Curacao and Panama have not yet confirmed if they will play in the event. Nicaragua will not play in the 2026 Caribbean Series in Caracas, Venezuela. The last time they played in the Caribbean Series was in 2024 at loanDepot Park in Miami, Florida.
The 2026 Serie de Las Americas will have Cuba, Colombia, Nicaragua, Argentina, Curacao, and Panama. It will be held January 24-30 at Estadio Rod Carew in Panama City, with the possibility of some games being held at Estadio Mariano Rivera in La Chorrera, Panama, according to Leif Skodnick of World Baseball Network.

No game start time schedule for the club teams in the participating countries leagues for the 2026 SDLA has yet been announced.
This will be the second edition of the SDLA, hosted by the Asociacion de Ligas Profesionales de Beisbol de las Americas.
The Liga Argentina de Beisbol also started their league on October 11 and the winner will play in the SDLA for the second consecutive year.

The 2026 World Baseball Classic will be televised on FOX for the second consecutive time since 2023. Major League Baseball and World Baseball Classic Inc. made the announcement on October 7.

FOX also announced on October 7 that they secured the U.S. rights to the 2026 WBC, which culminates in the WBC Championship Game on Tuesday, March 17, from Miami’s loanDepot Park.

This will be the 30th season in 2026 that FOX Sports has been covering Major League Baseball events since the 1996 season.
Japan has won the most WBC championships with three in 2006, 2009, and 2023. The United States won in 2017, and the Dominican Republic won in 2013, and they are the only other countries to win the WBC since the event started in 2006.
The WBC is sanctioned by the World Baseball Softball Confederation, the sport’s governing body alongside Major League Baseball, the Major League Baseball Players Association, and the WBCI, which partner in organizing the event during spring training.

If teams end up with the same record in pool play, the Total Quality Balance run-differential rule will be in effect for runs for and against, alongside the head-to-head record.
The 2026 WBC will be held with Pool A in San Juan, Puerto Rico, at Hiram Bithorn Stadium; Pool B in Houston, Texas, at Daikin Park; and Pool D at loanDepot Park in Miami, Fla., from March 6–11.
Pool C will be held from March 5–10 at the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan.
The WBC quarterfinals will be on March 13 at Daikin Park and March 14 at loanDepot Park. The semifinals on March 15–16 and the championship game on March 17 will be at loanDepot Park.
Pool A will have host nation Puerto Rico, Cuba, Colombia, Panama, and Canada.
Pool B will have the United States, Mexico, Italy, Brazil, and Great Britain.
Pool C will consist of host nation Japan, Chinese Taipei, South Korea, Australia, and the Czech Republic.
Pool D will have the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Israel, and the Netherlands.
