Five players from the champion team made up the tournament’s all-star team
(Press Release; Pan American Baseball Confederation) – The Venezuelan national team dominated with five players from the All-Star team, in addition to taking home the Most Valuable Player award.
Giovanni Rivero was the MVP. The Venezuelan catcher batted .400 with a .533 slugging percentage and a .526 on-base percentage for a 1.059 OPS with two runs scored and seven RBIs.
Wilkerman García of Venezuela led the field with a .429 batting average, Joaquín Bruno of Argentina led the field with two home runs, Pedro Amma of Argentina also led the field with six runs scored, and Giovanny Rivero of Venezuela led the field with seven RBIs.
Gabriel Hernández of Peru stole five to lead the tournament, and the leader in ERA and wins was Mikell Manzano of Venezuela. The defensive player of the tournament was Joaquín Acosta of Argentina.
The All-Star team was led by Venezuelan pitcher Mikell Manzano and catcher Giovanny Rivero. The right side of the infield was occupied by Joaquín Bruno of Argentina at first and Lucas Sasaki of Brazil at second. The left side of the infield was occupied by Gabriel Rodríguez of Venezuela at third and Joaquín Costa of Argentina at shortstop. Also from Venezuela was Estanlin Cassiani, the designated hitter.
The outfield, from left to right, includes Andrew Coelho of Brazil, Wilkerman García of Venezuela, and Matías Arévalo of Peru.
