Canada will compete in Pool A with Colombia, Cuba, Panama and Puerto Rico in the upcoming World Baseball Classic.
Canada will be without Freddie Freeman in this year’s World Baseball Classic, but that does not mean it will not have a solid team. Josh Naylor is coming off a great season. He posted a .816 OPS and hit 20 home runs. Matt Davidson, who has been playing for the NC Dinos for the last two years, has hit 82 home runs in the last two seasons.
Other players like Tyler Black, Abraham Toro, Owen Caissie, Denzel Clarke and Tyler O’Neill all have big league experience and bring valuable skills to the table. Clarke is an elite defender in the outfield. Black and Caissie are both young, but are elite athletes who could cause problems on the basepaths.
