Team Italy is going into the 2026 World Baseball Classic with a strong roster. Sal Frelick is a notable absence, but the team still has plenty of young talent to lean on.
Jac Caglianone is one of the bright young stars in the league, and Vinnie Pasquantino is coming off a 32-homer season. Additionally, Giaconino Lasaracina is one of the best power bats in Europe, posting a 1.040 OPS in Serie A last season. He hit six home runs in seven games during the 2025 European Championship.
On the pitching side, there is a good mix of Major League Baseball and Minor League Baseball talent. Sam Aldegheri, the first pitcher born and raised in Italy to reach the Majors, is also on the squad.
