A Look at North Carolina Hosting Stanford for Their First Ever ACC Series

The Stanford Cardinal are heading east for their first ever weekend series in ACC play.

They will face a tough challenge to begin their conference history as they face the unbeaten North Carolina Tar Heels.

Although a challenge, it is not impossible for Stanford to leave Boshamer Stadium in Chapel Hill with a series win. They have had a good start to the 2025 season themselves.

The Cardinal have a 10-2 record despite coming off winning only two games against Xavier in a four-game series this past weekend.

The Tar Heels had a midweek matchup against the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers, a ranked team. They won in 11 innings on a walk-off sac fly from Gavin Gallaher.

They were supposed to play College of Charleston on Wednesday. However, that game got postponed.

North Carolina has some other big wins this season. They defeated Texas Tech and East Carolina in weekend series while also taking down Kansas State in a midweek game.

Stanford’s two losses against Xavier are its only losses this season. Prior to that series, it defeated Washington and Cal State Fullerton in two separate four-game series and had an 8-0 record heading into last weekend.

The matchup between North Carolina and Stanford is not only historic but also one of the best series to watch this weekend.

Friday’s game in Chapel Hill is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. EST.
