Very few freshmen in college baseball had a better season than TCU’s Sawyer Strosnider in 2025.
The Brock, Texas-native won Big 12 Freshman of the Year and was first team All-Big 12. He was also named a first team freshman All-American by the National College Baseball Writers Association and Perfect Game.
Perfect Game also felt that Strosnider was the best freshman in the country. The outlet named him the National Freshman of the Year in 2025.
Strosnider had a .350 batting average, a .420 on-base percentage, and 51 RBI in 2025. He was also an extra-base hit machine last season for TCU with 13 doubles, 10 triples, and 11 home runs.
He led the country in triples this past season.
From March 5-11, Strosnider had a streak of five multi-hit games against the Air Force Falcons, Fresno State Bulldogs, and the Texas State Bobcats.
During that stretch, he had 11 total hits and six RBI.
In 2025, the TCU Horned Frogs finished the season 39-20 overall. They were 19-11 in Big 12 play.
The Horned Frogs finished in third place in the Big 12 behind only the Kansas Jayhawks and West Virginia Mountaineers.
In the postseason, TCU put together a great run in the Big 12 Tournament at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.
They made it all the way to the Big 12 Championship game before they lost to the Arizona Wildcats.
They made the 2025 NCAA Tournament and were the two seed in the Corvallis regional. The Horned Frogs were unable to get a win in the tournament as they lost both games against the USC Trojans and Oregon State Beavers.
