Aaron Judge Snaps Home Run Drought in a Grand Way: One Thing from Every MLB Game

Aaron Judge and the Yankees scored five runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to beat the Red Sox. Here’s everything you missed from last night’s MLB action.

New York Yankees 5, Boston Red Sox 4

Aaron Judge’s grand slam snapped his 16-game streak without a home run. He also put the Yankees ahead as they secured game two of four against the Red Sox.

Milwaukee Brewers 2, Arizona Diamondbacks 1

Devin Williams notched a save for the second straight night as Rhys Hoskins’ two-run home run was enough offense in the desert.

Houston Astros 5, Los AngelesAngels 3

Yusei Kikuchi went seven innings with six strikeouts. The Astros are now 8-0 in Kikuchi starts since they acquired him from the Blue Jays.

Colorado Rockies 9, Chicago Cubs 5

The Cubs tied things up 5-5 in the top of the eighth. However, Hunter Goodman hit a grand slam to put the Rockies ahead for good.

Cincinnati Reds 8,  Minnesota Twins 4

Elly De La Cruz continued his great season. He didn’t add another stolen base but hit his first career grand slam.

Oakland Athletics 2, Chicago White Sox 0

In a game without much offense, Brent Rooker picked up RBI No. 103 with a single in the fifth inning. Rooker is having a career year.

Atlanta Braves 6, Los Angeles Dodgers 2

A four-run second inning powered the Braves offense over the Dodgers. Gio Urshela and Jorge Soler hit two-run home runs in the inning. The Braves still only trail the Mets by one game in the National League Wild Card race.

Tampa Bay Rays 3, Cleveland Guardians 1

Jose Siri hit his first triple of the season in the top of the third inning. Logan Driscoll homered in the following at-bat. The offense would only score one more run. Edwin Uceta picked up his third save of the season.

Toronto Blue Jays 4, St. Louis Cardinals 3

Alejandro Kirk singled with the bases loaded in the 11th inning to walk off the Cardinals in game one of the series.

Washington Nationals 4, Miami Marlins 1 

Dylan Crews put his speed and athleticism on display in this one. He robbed a hit with a leaping grab near the wall. He also swiped two bags as the Nationals took care of business.

New York Mets 11, Philadelphia Phillies 3

The Mets tagged Aaron Nola for six earned runs and homered four times. The Mets held on to their narrow lead in the NL Wild Card race.

Kansas City Royals 8, Pittsburgh Pirates 3 

The Royals jumped out to an early lead thanks to a six-run second inning. Salvador Perez swatted his 27th home run of the season.

Detroit Tigers 1, Baltimore Orioles 0

Two days after rookie Keider Montero threw a ‘Maddux,’ the Tigers had another gem on the mound. The Tigers took a combined perfect game into the eighth inning before an Adley Rutschman. The Tigers held the Orioles to one hit in the game.

Seattle Mariners 5, Texas Rangers 4

Jacob deGrom struck out four in his 2024 debut. However, the Mariners got to the Mariners bullpen to finish the comeback. Julio Rodríguez hit a three-run home run in the eighth inning to take a 5-4 lead.

San Diego Padres 5, San Francisco Giants 0

Dylan Cease struck out 10 in six innings of work. The Padres offense scored five runs on 12 hits after going 3-14 with runners in scoring position.
