Arizona Fall League All-Star Game Features Top International Talent

The Arizona Fall League All-Star Game will take place on Nov. 9 at Sloan Park in Mesa, Arizona, at 8 p.m. EST, with multiple top prospects from around the world expected to participate.  

With six teams, the AFL provides a proving ground for top prospects in each Major League Baseball organization to develop during the late fall and early winter.

​The Salt River Rafters have five international all-stars: Venezuelan catcher Juan Flores, who is in the Los Angeles Angels organization; Raudi Rodriguez, also in the Angels organization and is a Dominican outfielder; Venezuelan pitcher Luis Perales from the Boston Red Sox organization; Dominican outfielder Esmerlyn Valdez from the Pittsburgh Pirates organization; and Dominican infielder Jansel Luis of the Arizona Diamondbacks organization.

​Flores, 19, played his entire regular season with the Angels High-A affiliate, the Tri-City Dust Devils. This fall, he has one home run, eight RBIs, and a .774 OPS in 59 at-bats for the Rafters.

​Rodriguez, 22, played with the Angels’ Low-A affiliate, the Inland Empire 66ers, in 2025. He has one home run, eight RBIs, and an OPS of 1.119 in 54 at-bats this fall for the Rafters.

​Perales, 22, missed the majority of the 2025 season due to injury and has thrown 10 innings with 16 strikeouts this fall with the Rafters. Perales has pitched five seasons in the Red Sox farm system and has pitched 1 1/3 innings with their Triple-A affiliate, the Worcester Red Sox.

​Valdez, 21, is leading the AFL with eight home runs, 26 RBIs, and a slugging percentage of .870 in 54 at-bats this fall for the Rafters. Valdez has been with the Pirates for five seasons, and advanced to their Double-A affiliate, the Altoona Curve, in 2025.

Luis, 20, has been with the Diamondbacks for four seasons and rose as high as their High-A affiliate, the Hillsboro Hops, in 2025. This fall, he has eight RBIs and stolen bases in 80 at-bats with the Rafters.

​The Surprise Saguaros have six international all-stars: Dominican infielder Daniel Vasquez, who is in the Kansas City Royals organization; Panamanian pitcher Daniel Espino of the Cleveland Guardians organization; Dominican pitcher Jose Corniell from the Texas Rangers organization; and Dominican pitchers Winston Santos and Emiliano Teodo from the Rangers organization. Mexican pitcher Jesus Broca from the Milwaukee Brewers is the Saguaros sixth international all-star.

​Vasquez, 21, was signed out of the Dominican Republic as an international free agent with a signing bonus of $1.5 million by the Royals and has spent five seasons in their farm system. This fall, he has two home runs, 18 RBIs, and an OPS of .921 in 73 at-bats.

Espino, 24, pitched just 2/3 of an inning during the regular season after missing two full seasons with shoulder injuries that required two surgeries. This fall, he has pitched 4 2/3 scoreless innings with seven strikeouts. The Guardians will hope he can stay healthy heading into spring training.

​Corniell, 22, has been in the Rangers farm system for four seasons and made his MLB debut in 2025 against the Cleveland Guardians on Sept. 28. He has pitched 15 innings with 17 strikeouts this fall for the Saguaros.

​Santos, 23, has been in the Rangers farm system for five seasons and he made it to their Triple-A affiliate, the Round Rock Express, in 2025. He has thrown 14 1/3 innings with 15 strikeouts and an ERA of 5.65 this fall.

​Teodo, 24, has also pitched for the Round Rock Express and spent five seasons in the Rangers farm system. This fall, he threw four innings with six strikeouts and one run allowed for the Saguaros.

​Borca, 22, has been in the Brewers’ farm system the past three seasons and made it to their Double-A affiliate, the Biloxi Shuckers, in 2025. This fall, he has pitched 9 innings with 15 strikeouts and an ERA of 2.00.

​The Peoria Javelinas have three international all-stars: Venezuelan pitcher Miguel Boadas from the Minnesota Twins organization, Dominican pitcher Luis De Leon, from the Baltimore Orioles organization, and Venezuelan catcher Alfredo Duno, who is in the Cincinnati Reds organization.

​Boadas, 22, signed a minor league contract with the Twins in 2019 and made it to their High-A affiliate in Cedar Rapids in 2024, but didn’t pitch in the 2025 regular season. This fall he has thrown 11 2/3 innings with eight strikeouts and a 1.54 ERA for the Javelinas this fall.

​De Leon, 22, signed a minor league deal with the Orioles in 2021 and made it as high as their Double-A affiliate, the Chesapeake Baysox, this past season. He has pitched 16 1/3 innings with 22 strikeouts and an ERA of 2.76 for the Javelinas this fall.

​Duno, 19, is the Reds’ No. 2 ranked prospect and ranks 48th on MLB Pipeline.com’s Top 100 Rankings. Duno signed out of the Dominican Republic in 2023, and he ranked fourth in his international class with a $3.1 million signing bonus. Duno has spent his past two seasons with the Reds’ Low-A club in Daytona. Duno has six RBIs in 41 at-bats with the Javelinas this fall.    

​The Glendale Desert Dogs have three international all-stars, all in the St. Louis Cardinals organization. Pitcher Chen-Wei Lin was born in Taiwan, pitcher Darlin Saladin was born in the Dominican Republic, and outfielder Miguel Ugueto was born in Venezuela.

​Lin, 22, played in the MLB Draft League in 2023 with the Fredericksburg Keys, which led to him signing a minor league deal with the Cardinals on July 3, 2023. He pitched 3 1/3 scoreless innings with five strikeouts in the Desert Dogs’ 11-0 win against the Javelinas. Lin made it as high as the Cardinals’ Double-A affiliate, the Springfield Cardinals.

​Saladin, 22, also contributed to the shutout with one scoreless inning and one strikeout. He has been lights out this fall for the Desert Dogs with an ERA of 0.82 in 11 innings with 17 strikeouts. Saladin signed a minor league deal with the Cardinals in 2019 and has pitched with their High-A affiliate, the Peoria Chiefs.

​Ugueto, 23, signed with the Boston Red Sox out of Venezuela in 2019. He was selected by the  Cardinals in the 2024 Rule 5 Draft. He has one home run, 12 RBIs, and an OPS of .780 in 54 at-bats this fall with the Desert Dogs.

​The Mesa Solar Sox have one international all-star, Dominican infielder Starlyn Caba from the Miami Marlins organization.

​Caba, 19, signed a minor league deal with the Philadelphia Phillies in 2023 out of the Dominican Republic. He was traded to the Miami Marlins for Jesus Luzardo before the 2025 season. Caba played with the Miami Marlins’ Low-A affiliate, the Jupiter Hammerheads, this past season.  He has two home runs, 10 RBI, and an OPS of .851 in 67 at-bats this fall with the Solar Sox.

​The Scottsdale Scorpions have one international all-star in Bolivian pitcher Anderson Brito, who is in the Houston Astros organization.

​Brito, 21, is eligible to play for Spain in international competition, and he signed a minor league deal with the Houston Astros in 2023. He made it as high as the Astros’ High-A affiliate in Asheville, N.C. in 2025. Brito has pitched 11 1/3 innings with 22 strikeouts and an ERA of 3.97 this fall with the Scorpions.   

The Arizona Fall League was established in 1992 and is comprised of six teams: the Glendale Desert Dogs, the Mesa Solar Sox, the Peoria Javelinas, the Salt River Rafters, the Scottsdale Scorpions, and the Surprise Saguaros.
