On Thursday, the Arizona Wildcats landed a commitment from a right-handed pitcher in the 2026 high school class.
Quinn O’Rourke, who is ranked 142nd nationally according to his Perfect Game National Showcase invite, is a right-handed pitcher from Matthews, N.C. He announced his commitment to Arizona via his X account.

North Carolina High School Baseball Standout – O’Rourke plays high school baseball for the Charlotte Catholic Cougars. According to MaxPreps, the right-handed Arizona commit had a 2.36 ERA in 29 2/3 innings of work. He also had 43 strikeouts over that stretch and a 3-1 record.
According to MaxPreps, O’Rourke helped to lead Charlotte Catholic to a 22-6-1 overall record, and they were 11-1 in conference play.
Arizona’s 2025 and 2026 Recruiting Classes – According to Perfect Game, O’Rourke is joining Arizona’s 2026 recruiting class that ranks 42nd in the country.
The North Carolina native is the third-highest ranked recruit among the group committed to the Wildcats. Two California prospects, Ayden Deome and Dustin Dunwoody, are the only two players ranked higher.
It also is important to note that O’Rourke is just one of seven players that Arizona has committed to their 2026 recruiting class.
According to Perfect Game, the Wildcats’ 2025 recruiting class ranked 27th ranked in the country. That group contained 11 players, and one of them, Jack Lafflam, was ranked in the top 100 of the 2025 class at 48th overall.
