2025 College Baseball Season with Marshall, Arkansas Transfer Decision
After two seasons with the New Orleans Privateers to start his college career, Niu transferred to Marshall for the 2025 college baseball season.
He was a solid hitter this season with the Thundering Herd. He had a .276 batting average with 12 doubles, five triples, 14 home runs, and 48 RBI. Just like in the Cape Cod League, Niu was a base-stealing threat for Marshall. He stole 14 bases in 2025.
He finished in the top ten of the Sun Belt in home runs and RBI and led the conference in triples.
The Marshall Thundering Herd went 33-26 overall this past season and were 16-14 in Sun Belt play. They made a solid run in the Sun Belt Tournament as they beat the Louisiana Rajun’ Cajuns twice before Coastal Carolina knocked them out.
In July 2025, Niu announced that he was transferring to Arkansas for the 2026 season. This will be his fourth season in college baseball.
Niu is part of the Arkansas Razorbacks’ incoming transfer portal class that ranks 18th in the country, according to 64Analytics.
