Arkansas Pitcher Carson Wiggins is a Top 100 2026 MLB Draft Prospect

Entering his sophomore season, Arkansas right-handed pitcher Carson Wiggins is a top 100 2026 MLB Draft prospect.

MLB Pipeline has the flamethrowing Razorback ranked 87th in their draft prospect rankings.

Wiggins is eligible for the 2026 MLB Draft because he will turn 21 years old on June 1. That date is prior to the draft, which will occur in Philadelphia in July.

Wiggins and his 2025 Season with Arkansas, Injury Timeline

Wiggins pitched 14 innings for the Arkansas Razorbacks in 2025. Over that stretch on the mound, he had a 3.21 ERA and 20 strikeouts.

He also recorded three saves during the season against Washington State, Charlotte, and Portland.

Wiggins’ best performance on the mound came during SEC play against the Georgia Bulldogs on April 13. In that game, he pitched a season-high two innings and tallied a season-high four strikeouts.

Wiggins also allowed just one hit and one run in that game against Georgia. The run he allowed was unearned.

Unfortunately, the right-hander had surgery on his elbow after he suffered an injury in a game against the Florida Gators on April 27. This kept him out for the remainder of the 2025 college baseball season.

The return date of Wiggins will be something to watch out for during the 2026 season. Arkansas head coach Dave Van Horn talked about the right-hander’s injury and when he is expected to be back.

I hope he can pitch for us at the end of 2026,” Van Horn said. “He is two-year draft eligible. So, he’ll have a decision to make. If he comes back for his junior season, I truly believe he will be an early pick on day one.”

High Stock Coming Out of High School, High Velocity Fastball

According to Perfect Game, Wiggins was a top ten right-handed pitcher in the 2024 high school class.

His senior season at Roland High School in Oklahoma was fantastic. He had a 0.97 ERA and 93 strikeouts in 36 innings of work.

MLB Pipeline took notice of Wiggins during his days playing high school baseball. He was ranked as the 79th overall draft prospect in their 2024 rankings.

Wiggins is also well-known for his lightning-quick fastball. According to MLB Pipeline, his fastball averaged 98.7 mph. During April, he reached 102 miles per hour with his fastball while pitching for Arkansas.
