The Arkansas Razorbacks made a historic mark on NCAA baseball and softball. In 2025, they became the first school to have the player of the year in both sports.
Wehiwa Aloy won the Golden Spikes award in college baseball while Bri Ellis won the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year award.
Aloy finished with a .350 batting average and a .434 on-base percentage. He had 93 total hits this season, which led to 68 RBI. The star shortstop also had 21 home runs.
Statistically, it was Aloy’s best season of his college career in his time with both Arkansas and Sacramento State. He became the third Arkansas player to win the Golden Spikes award, along with Andrew Benintendi and Kevin Kopps.
Bri Ellis had a great senior season in Fayetteville playing softball. She finished with a .440 batting average and an astonishing .639 on-base percentage. She had 72 RBI and showed off the power with 26 home runs.
She is the first player from Arkansas to win the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year award in its 23 year existence.
Both Aloy and Ellis had major impacts on Arkansas’ baseball and softball teams because of their big play.
Both Arkansas baseball and softball hosted NCAA Tournament super regionals during the 2025 postseason.
Aloy helped Arkansas baseball make the College World Series for the 12th time in program history.
Ellis helped Arkansas softball make it to a super regional for the fourth time in program history. It is the third time this decade Razorbacks softball has made it that far in the NCAA Tournament.
