Australia’s Josh Nati Signs with the Oregon State Beavers

On Tuesday, Oregon State head baseball coach Mitch Canham announced that Josh Nati is signing with the Beavers. 

Nati is an infielder and catcher from Sydney, Australia. He will play for Oregon State during the 2026 college baseball season as a freshman. 

Nati and His Time Playing for the Australian Baseball League and National Team

Before arriving at Oregon State, Nati played in the Australian Baseball League (ABL) for his hometown’s team, the Sydney Blue Sox

In 2025, Nati had 18 at-bats for the Blue Sox. He had a .222 batting average, two home runs, eight RBIs, and scored five runs himself. 

He played first base, third base, catcher, and was also a designated hitter for Sydney. Defensively, he had a 1.000 fielding percentage with 26 putouts and no errors. 

Nati also played for Australia’s U-18 National Team twice in 2023 and 2025. 

In 16 total games over the course of those two stints, he was a standout player with a .341 batting average, an on-base percentage of .434, and an OPS of .866. Nati also had four doubles over the course of those two stints with the U-18 Australian team. 

During the 2025 WBSC U-18 World Cup in Japan, he had 12 RBIs. He led Australia in doubles and RBIs during the event. 

Oregon State to Begin the 2026 Season in Arizona

After making the College World Series in 2025, the Oregon State Beavers will begin the 2026 college baseball season in the Surprise, Arizona College Baseball Series. 

From February 13-16, they will play four games at Surprise Stadium. 

On February 13 and 16, they will play the Michigan Wolverines. Those games will begin at 4 p.m. EST and 2 p.m. EST, respectively. 

On February 14, they will play the Arizona Wildcats at 4 p.m. EST. Then, on February 15, they will play the Stanford Cardinal at 4 p.m. EST.
