On Friday, February 13, Baylor first baseman Tyce Armstrong hit three grand slams in a 15-2 win over the New Mexico State Aggies.
Armstrong hit his grand slams in the third, fourth, and seventh innings against the Aggies. His seventh-inning grand slam was a walk-off that ended the game. The game ended under the NCAA run rule of a 10-run lead after seven completed innings.
The redshirt senior tied the NCAA record for most grand slams in a game by a single player. The only other person to accomplish this feat is former Louisville player Jim LaFountain. He hit three grand slams in a game against Western Kentucky in 1976.
