Four games in the Big 12 tournament took place on Thursday. Here’s everything that you need to know.
Arizona Wildcats 4, BYU Cougars 1
Arizona defeated BYU 4-1 with a strong pitching performance. Starting pitcher Owen Kramkowski came up big for the Wildcats with eight innings of work and six strikeouts. During his time on the mound, he allowed no earned runs.
Tony Pluta earned his 12th save of the season for Arizona as well.
Offensively, Mason White and Adonys Guzman both hit home runs in the first inning, which got Arizona’s scoring going. They were able to cruise from there.
West Virginia Mountaineers 10, Cincinnati Bearcats 3
After Cincinnati took a 1-0 lead early, West Virginia went on to score five unanswered runs in the fourth inning to get a four-run lead heading into the fifth inning.
The Mountaineers had RBI knocks come from six different players. Kyle West, Sam White, and Brodie Kesser had multiple RBIs in the game.
West hit a home run, and Kesser led West Virginia with three RBI himself.
Griffin Kern pitched all nine innings for West Virginia in the win. He struck out nine batters while only walking one.
Kansas Jayhawks 7, Oklahoma State Cowboys 6
Kansas mounted a big comeback to earn a bid to the Big 12 semi-finals. Oklahoma State led 6-2, and the Jayhawks would score five unanswered runs from there.
Brady BallBallinger’s three-run home run was a huge play in this game as it tied it up at 6-6. Mike Koszewski ended up getting the walk-off hit to win the game.
Dominic Voegele, Manning West, and Alex Breckheimer all combined for 12 strikeouts. West and Breckheimer allowed no earned runs in their combined relief effort, with Breckheimer earning the win.
TCU Horned Frogs 7, Houston Cougars 1
TCU dominated Houston after not allowing a single run until the ninth inning. Tommy LaPour put together a great start with 6.1 innings of work and six strikeouts. He also only walked one batter.
Sawyer Strosnider, Cole Cramer, and Noah Franco had multiple hits for the Horned Frogs. Franco, one of TCU’s prolific hitters, also homered in the game. TCU out-hit Houston 10-4 as a team.

The Big 12 Tournament semi-finals will be played at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, on Thursday, May 23.
Arizona and West Virginia will play at 5 p.m. EDT. That game will be followed by Kansas playing TCU at 8:30 p.m. EDT.
