According to Jeff Passan of ESPN, Boston Red Sox infielder Kristian Campbell was sent down to Triple-A Worcester on June 19 ahead of their three-game road series against the San Francisco Giants, which begins June 20 at 10:15 p.m. EDT.

Red Sox beat writer Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reported that Wilyer Abreu is likely to be activated on Friday.

Rafael Devers, after nine seasons with Boston, will play against his former team for the first time this weekend. Devers was traded on June 15 to the Giants in exchange for left-handed pitcher Kyle Harrison, right-handers Jordan Hicks and Jose Bello, and right fielder James Tibbs III, all heading to New England.

Campbell signed an eight-year, $16 million contract with the Red Sox on April 2, which included a $2 million signing bonus and escalating salaries from $1 million to $16 million between 2025 and 2032. The deal includes a $19 million club option for 2033 with a $4 million buyout, and a $21 million club option for 2034.
