The Atlanta Braves called up right-hander Rolddy Muñoz on September 1, giving him his first big league shot as rosters expanded.

Muñoz, 25, was born in Santo Domingo and signed with Atlanta in 2019 for just $20,000. His twin brother, Roddery, reached the majors with Miami in 2024. Rolddy spent years working through A-ball before his stuff jumped and his path to the majors opened.

Across Double-A and Triple-A in 2025, Muñoz logged 55.2 innings with a 2.75 ERA. His arsenal features a heavy sinker in the upper 90s and a sharp slider that scouts grade as plus-plus. The control has lagged—walks remain an issue—but the ground-ball rate north of 50 percent shows how effective his fastball shape can be.

The Braves’ late-inning group leans on Raisel Iglesias and Joe Jiménez. Muñoz slots in as depth and an audition for a 2026 bullpen role.

If he pounds the zone, he could climb into leverage spots quickly. Atlanta has a history of finding outsized value in power relievers who keep the ball on the ground.
His arrival also underscores Atlanta’s long ties with the Dominican Republic. From Juan Marichal’s influence to Ronald Acuña Jr. leading today’s lineup, Dominican talent has been central to the franchise’s identity. Muñoz is the latest to carry that thread.
The real story will be how manager Brian Snitker uses him. If Muñoz enters mid-inning jams, it signals confidence right away. If he’s eased in with clean frames, then September is about evaluation for spring training. Either way, his debut marks another Dominican arm stepping into the Braves bullpen at a crucial time.
