ARLINGTON, Texas – Vanderbilt third baseman Brodie Johnston has had a great start to the 2026 season through two games.
In 10 at-bats, he has six hits. Three of those six hits have been home runs as he has contributed to Vanderbilt’s offense massively through two games this season.
Johnston homered once in the Commodores’ loss to TCU and homered twice in the team’s most recent game, which was a win over Texas Tech.
He also has two doubles and three RBIs this season. Overall, Johnston has been one of the best players in Arlington during the 2026 Shriners Children’s College Showdown.
Tim Corbin’s thoughts on Johnston and his hitting
After Vanderbilt’s dominant 13-3 win over the Texas Tech Red Raiders, Corbin gave his thoughts on how Johnston’s hitting has been so good to start the year.
“He is seeing the ball well,” Corbin said to WBN. “He understands the difference between swinging at good pitches and letting pitches below the zone go.”
