Butler’s Jack Moroknek Entering the Transfer Portal After All-Big East Season

Outfielder Jack Moroknek hit the transfer portal this week after playing the 2025 college baseball season with the Butler Bulldogs.

The Carmel, Ind., native is a talented hitter. This season, he had a .372 batting average and a .443 on-base percentage. He also had 16 doubles, 18 home runs, and 57 RBI, all of which improved from the 2024 season.

The offensive play was enough to earn Moroknek a spot on second team All-Big East. He was Butler’s lone representative to get All-Big East honors.

One of Moroknek’s best games came against the Ohio Bobcats on March 2. He had four hits, with two of them being doubles. Two games later, against Lindenwood, he had a three-home run performance with five RBI.

The Butler star also had a five-RBI game against the St. John’s Red Storm on May 17. That was the Bulldogs’ last game of the season.

A well-improved junior season makes Moroknek one of the best hitters in the portal.

Butler finished the season 15-39 overall and was 4-17 in Big East play. Thus, they did not make the Big East tournament happening this week at Prasco Park, the home of Xavier baseball in Cincinnati.

Creighton, UConn, and Xavier are all alive in the Big East Tournament. UConn and Xavier have an elimination game on Friday, May 23, at 5 p.m. EDT.

The winner will face off against the Creighton Blue Jays on Saturday, May 24.
