The defending Liga Profesional de Béisbol Colombia champion, Caimanes de Barranquilla, opened their 2025–26 winter league season with a 10–4 win over the Tigres de Cartagena on Friday night at Estadio Édgar Rentería in Barranquilla, Colombia.

The Vaqueros de Montería home opener at Estadio 18 de Junio in Montería against the Toros de Sincelejo was postponed due to rain.
Caimanes starter Christian Allegretti and relievers Derwin Pérez, David Lorduy, Wilson López, and Willy Villar combined to cover nine innings, allowing six hits, four earned runs, seven walks, and striking out five under manager Jaime Del Valle.
Tigres starter Gilberto Chu and relievers Amaury Tamayo, Juan Olms, Yeizer Enrique Marrugo, and Santiago Blanco worked eight innings, allowing 15 hits, 10 earned runs, six walks, and nine strikeouts for manager Neder Horta.
Tigres opened the scoring in the top of the third when Willy Vásquez recorded a two-run double to center field, scoring Edwin García and Jorge Burgos for a 2–0 lead.
Caimanes responded with six runs in the bottom of the inning. Juan Fernández started the rally with an RBI double to left, scoring Michael Arroyo. Shalin Polanco followed with a two-run double down the right-field line to give Caimanes a 3–2 advantage.
Geovanny Planchart added an RBI single to center, Diego Contreras registered an infield RBI single, and Arroyo extended the lead to 6–2 with another run-scoring single to center.
Ricardo Céspedes finished with three hits, one run, and two RBI in three at-bats. Junior Franco collected three hits and an RBI. Polanco scored twice with one hit, two RBI, and two walks. Planchart had one hit, one run, and two walks. Arroyo recorded two hits, two runs, one RBI, and two walks. Juan Carlos García walked twice, had one hit, and scored once.
Caimanes will travel to play Tigres at Estadio Once de Noviembre in Cartagena de Indias at 5 p.m. EST on November 29.
