Heading into the 2025 college baseball season, Cal Baptist outfielder Nick Dumesnil was ranked as the 35th overall MLB draft prospect on MLB.com.
Thus far, the 2024 All-WAC first team member has lived up to expectations.
Despite going 0 for 3 at the plate in Cal Baptist’s last game against UC Santa Barbara, Dumesnil is batting .375 this season with two home runs and nine RBIs. His on-base percentage is great too, sitting at .462.
The outfielder has had four multi-hit games this season, which is half of the games the Lancers have played. His two home runs this season came against Pepperdine and Portland.

In those same two games, Dumesnil had eight RBIs and six hits, with three in each matchup.
Base-stealing is another aspect of the Cal Baptist players’ game that needs to be monitored. He has four stolen bases this season, around half of the nine he stole in 2024.
Dumesnil is one of the better outfielders in college baseball, and the first couple of weeks of his season have shown that, with signs of power in his bat and possibly improved work on stealing bases.
Fans can catch him and the Cal Baptist Lancers in this Friday’s matchup against the Utah Utes in Riverside, Calif. The first pitch from James W. Totman Stadium is scheduled for 5 p.m. EST.
