Major League Baseball is taking its stars to the fairways this offseason with the inaugural Capital One MLB Open, set for November 12–14, 2025, at Shadow Creek Golf Course in Las Vegas, Nev., during MLB Awards Week.

The event brings together current and former players — and even a few young athletes — in a new three-day competition designed to showcase personality, skill, and a little friendly rivalry.

Among the confirmed participants are Hall of Famer John Smoltz (United States, Atlanta Braves), Jimmy Rollins (United States, Philadelphia Phillies), David Wright (United States, New York Mets), Justin Turner (United States, Toronto Blue Jays), and Tarik Skubal (United States, Detroit Tigers). Mookie Betts (United States, Los Angeles Dodgers) will serve as a correspondent from the course, offering player interviews and commentary throughout the week.

The Pro-Am kicks things off on Wednesday, November 12, pairing MLB stars with amateur players and invited guests. The two-day main event follows on Thursday and Friday, featuring a unique modified Stableford scoring format that rewards aggressive play and turns every hole into a chance to climb the leaderboard.

The competition, hosted at one of golf’s most exclusive venues, promises a mix of camaraderie and competition — baseball’s biggest names trading bats for clubs under the Nevada sun.

Fans can attend in person through Capital One VIP packages, which include access to the Pro-Am and hospitality viewing areas at Shadow Creek. Attendance details and limited ticket information are available at MLB.com/events/mlb-open-golf-tournament.

For those watching from home, the tournament will be televised on TNT, Tuesday, November 18, at 9:30 p.m. ET, with extended coverage on Bleacher Report, MLB Network, the MLB app, and @MLB social channels.

Event Schedule

Wednesday, November 12: Capital One MLB Open Pro-Am

Thursday, November 13: Capital One MLB Open Tournament, Day 1

Friday, November 14: Capital One MLB Open Tournament, Day 2

Shadow Creek, designed by Tom Fazio and opened in 1990, has previously hosted made-for-TV golf events such as The Match featuring Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson, and The Showdown with Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler, Brooks Koepka, and Bryson DeChambeau.

The Capital One MLB Open adds a baseball twist to that legacy — and for many of these players, this week will be their chance to bring the clubhouse chatter onto one of golf’s most famous greens.
