Major League Baseball is taking its stars to the fairways this week with the inaugural Capital One MLB Open, teeing off Wednesday, Nov. 12 through Friday, Nov. 14 at Shadow Creek Golf Course in Las Vegas, Nev., during MLB Awards Week.

The event brings together current and former players — and a few young athletes — in a three-day competition designed to showcase personality, skill, and friendly rivalry.

Among the confirmed participants are Hall of Famer John Smoltz (Atlanta Braves), Jimmy Rollins (Philadelphia Phillies), David Wright (New York Mets), Justin Turner, and Tarik Skubal (Detroit Tigers). Mookie Betts (Los Angeles Dodgers) will serve as a correspondent from the course, providing interviews and commentary throughout the week.

Additional players include Will Smith, Andre Ethier, Ernie Clement, Joe Carter, David Price, CC Sabathia, Kevin Millar, Riley Adams, Todd Frazier, Kenny Lofton, Dexter Fowler, Justin Upton, Royce Lewis, Nick Swisher, Dallas Keuchel, and Paul Konerko.

The Pro-Am opens play Wednesday, pairing MLB stars with amateur players and invited guests. The two-day main event follows Thursday and Friday, using a modified Stableford scoring format that rewards aggressive play and keeps every hole in contention.

The competition, hosted at one of golf’s most exclusive venues, promises a mix of camaraderie and competition — baseball’s biggest names trading bats for clubs under the Nevada sun.

Fans can attend in person through Capital One VIP packages, which include access to the Pro-Am and hospitality viewing areas. Ticket and attendance information is available at MLB.com.

For those watching from home, the tournament will air Tuesday, Nov. 18, at 9:30 p.m. ET on TNT, with extended coverage on Bleacher Report, MLB Network, the MLB app, and @MLB social channels.

Sixty current and former Major Leaguers representing all 30 clubs will headline the event.

Event Schedule

  • Wednesday, Nov. 12: Capital One MLB Open Pro-Am

  • Thursday, Nov. 13: Capital One MLB Open Tournament – Day 1

  • Friday, Nov. 14: Capital One MLB Open Tournament – Day 2

Shadow Creek, designed by Tom Fazio and opened in 1990, has hosted made-for-TV golf showcases such as The Match featuring Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson, and The Showdown with Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler, Brooks Koepka, and Bryson DeChambeau.

The Capital One MLB Open adds a baseball twist to that legacy — for many of these players, it’s a chance to bring clubhouse chatter onto one of golf’s most famous greens.
