The Confederacion de Beisbol Profesional del Caribe, the organizing body behind the Caribbean Series, announced that six teams are confirmed to be participating in the 2026 Caribbean Series, scheduled to be held at Estadio Monumental Simon Bolivar in Caracas, Venezuela and Estadio Forum La Guaira in La Guaira, Venezuela next February.
The confirmed participants include the champions of the four winter professional leagues that comprise the CBPC, the Dominican Republic’s Liga de Beisbol Profesional de la Republica Dominicana, Puerto Rico’s Liga Beisbol Profesional Roberto Clemente, Mexico’s Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacifico, and Venezuela’s Liga Venezolana de Beisbol Profesional, as well as teams representing Colombia and Cuba.
The announcement was made at a press conference at Estadio Monumental Simon Bolivar in Caracas on Tuesday.
Cuba and Colombia last participated in the Caribbean Series in 2023, the last time the event was held in Caracas. Cuba was represented by the Agricultores, who won the championship of the Cuban Elite League in that circuit’s first season, and Colombia was represented by the Vaqueros de Monteria, who won the championship in Colombia’s Liga Beisbol Profesional Colombiano. The Vaqueros finished round robin play 4-3 and advanced to the semifinals, where they lost 7-5 to Venezuela’s Leones del Caracas, and then lost the consolation game 7-5 to Mexico’s Caneros de Los Mochis. The Agricultores went 1-6 in pool play, beating only Curacao and finishing last.
In addition to the six confirmed participants, representatives of four other countries — Panama, Curaçao, Nicaragua, and Japan — are being considered for the final two spots in the event. Japan, represented at the 2025 Caribbean Series in Mexicali, Mexico, by the Japan Breeze, a team largely composed of industrial league players and players with experience in Nippon Professional Baseball’s minor leagues, went 0-4 and was no-hit by Venezuela’s Cardenales de Lara.
According to LVBP president Giuseppe Palmisano, Italy, which was floated as a potential invitee, declined to come to Caracas for winter ball’s capstone event, citing difficulty in putting together a competitive roster.

Organizers also announced that Estadio Universitario would be available for teams to use for practices, while games would be held exclusively at Estadio Monumental Simon Bolivar and Estadio Forum La Guaira.
The president of the Simón Bolívar Monumental Stadium Foundation, General Jorge Márquez, also announced that a new parking lot will be opened at Estadio Monumental, and that the ballpark will have new turf.
“We will also have transportation from the Poliedro Arena to the stadium. Nothing regrettable will happen here; we have guaranteed security; we have been perfecting everything over the past two years. I promise you this will be the best Caribbean Series,” Marquez said in Spanish. The Poliedro is a sports arena in the same complex as Estadio Monumental.
The 2026 Caribbean Series will be the eighth time the event has been held in Venezuela’s capital, after previously hosting the 1951, 1955, 1959, 1970, 1973, 1977, 1983, 2002, and 2023 events. A team from the LVBP has only won a Caribbean Series held in Caracas once, when the Navegantes de Magallanes won the 1970 Caribbean Series with a 7-1 record.
