Caribbean Winter League Streaming Ledger: 2026 Serie del Caribe & Serie de Las Americas

2026 Serie del Caribe Overview

The 2026 Caribbean Series will take place from February 1-7 in Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico at Estadio Panamericano.

This will be the 68th year of the Caribbean Series since the event began in 1949, and the 77th year that the Confederacion de Beisbol Profesional del Caribe has been in existence.

Estadio Panamericano is home to the Charros de Jalisco of the Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacifico.

Leagues Represented

The champions in the 2025-26 winter league seasons that will be represented at the 2026 Caribbean Series are from the Liga de Béisbol Profesional Roberto Clemente in Puerto Rico, the Liga de Béisbol Profesional de la República Dominicana, and the first and second place finishers in LAMP, alongside Panama.

Teams Participating

The teams participating in the 2026 Caribbean Series are the winners of the top two finishers in LAMP with the Charros de Jalisco and Tomateros de Cuilican, Panama ProBeis franchise, the Federales de Chiriqui, the Cangrejeros de Santurce of the LBPRC, and the Leones del Escogido of LIDOM.

The Tomateros de Culicancan are categorized as the Mexico Green Team and the Charros de Jalisco are the Mexico Red Team.

Venezuela & CBPC Context

The Liga Venezolana de Beisbol Profesional will not play in the 2026 Caribbean Series and are a member of the Confederacion de Beisbol Profesional del Caribe.

The 2025-26 LVBP champion will play at the 2026 SDLA in Caracas, Venezuela, instead of the 2026 Caribbean Series.

The Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and Mexico are also members of the CBPC.

The last time that Venezuela did not play in the Caribbean Series was in 1974, when the league had a players strike, and the top-two finishers of the LMP, the Venados de Maztlan and Yaquis de Obregon were the other representatives that appeared at the event, besides the winners, the Tigres del Licey for the Dominican Republic and the Criollos de Caguas for Puerto Rico played in Hermosillo, Mexico at Estadio Hector Espino.

Franchise & National History Notes

Cangrejeros de Santurce (LBPRC)

The Cangrejeros de Santurce have won the Caribbean Series in 1951, 1953, 1955, 1993, and 2000.

The Cangrejeros de Santurce have played in the Caribbean Series in 1951, 1953, 1955, 19559,, 1971, 1973, 1991, 1993, 2000, 2015, 2016, 2019, and 2020.

Leones del Escogido (LIDOM)

The Leones del Escogido have won the Caribbean Series in 1988, 1990, 2010, 2012, and 2025 and also appeared in 1981, 1982, 1989, 1992, 2013, and 2016.

Federales de Chiriqui (Panama)

The Federales de Chriqui have appeared at the Caribbean Series in 2021, 2023 and 2024.

Panama had their ProBeis season canceled due to economic issues in their country alongside financial issues with their governing sports body.

This will be the second time that the Federales de Chiriqui will play in the Caribbean Series, prior to not having a season since playing in Mazatlan, Mexico in 2021, since ProBeis was canceled due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Panama has participated in the Caribbean Series from 1949-60, before returning in 2019, where the Toros de Herrera won the event. Panama has played in the Caribbean Series from 2020 until 2024, where they won third place in Miami at loanDepot Park as the nations’ last appearance.

Mexico Clubs

The Charros de Jalisco will have been to the Caribbean Series in 2019 and 2024, and the Tomateros de Cuilacan have appeared in the event in 1978, 1983, 1985, 1996, 1997, 2002, 2004, 2015, 2018, 2020, and 2021.

The Tomateros de Cuilacan have won two Caribbean Series titles in 1996 and 1992.

The last time a Mexico club team hosted on home soil, south of the border was in the 2005 Caribbean Series at Estadio Teodoro Mariscal in Mazatlán, when the Venados de Mazatlan won the event, going 5-1, for their first title in franchise history, prior to when they won their second in 2016 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic at Estadio Quisqueya Juan Marichal.

This is the second time that Estadio Panamericano will host the Caribbean Series since the 2018 event, when the champion of the Liga de Béisbol Profesional Roberto Clemente in Puerto Rico, the Criollos de Caguas won 9-4 in the title game against the LIDOM champion, the Aguilas Cibaenas.

The other main baseball global events, Estadio Panamericano has also hosted was Pool D of the 2017 World Baseball Classic, the 2019 and 2024 for Group A of the World Baseball Softball Confederation, Premier12 tournament.

Broadcast & Streaming (Where to Watch)

All of the games in the United States will be televised on ESPN Deportes until the final out of the championship game on February 7 at Estadio Panamericano.

The 2026 Caribbean Series will be broadcasted in English in the United States on MLB Network.

2026 Caribbean Series Will Be Televised Live In English On MLB Network

The 2026 Caribbean Series will be televised in Mexico on VC Deportes, Megacable, ESPN and Disney+ Premium.

Host Change Note

The 2026 Caribbean Series was originally announced for Caracas, Venezuela (Estadio Simon Bolivar and Estadio Forum La Guaira) before being relocated to Guadalajara/Zapopan, Mexico. Logistics of the relocation were reported to have taken shape in early December.

2026 Serie de Las Americas (SDLA) Overview

The 2026 Serie de Las Americas event was relocated to Estadio Simon Bolivar and Estadio Forum La Guaira and will be held from February 5-13.

2026 Serie de Las Americas: Liga Venezolana de Beisbol Profesional Champion Will Represent Venezuela; Panama’s ProBeis League Won’t Play

The Asociación de Béisbol de las Américas is the organizer of the Serie de Las Americas event, and is operated by all countries’ federations in Nicaragua, Curacao, Panama, Colombia, and Cuba.

Teams / Representatives

The champions, Caimanes de Barranquilla of the Liga Profesional De Béisbol Colombia, Club DAOM of the Liga Argentina de Beisbol, Leones de Leon of the Asociacion Profesional de Beisbol Nicaraguense, the Aguilas Metropolitanas of Panama ProBeis, Cuba’s national team, and the 2026 Curacao Professional Baseball league will all play at the 2026 SDLA.

Cuba will not have their 2025-26 Serie Nacional winner be represented at the 2026 SDLA.

All countries except Argentina at the SDLA, will have some scouting aspects to evaluate their rosters for the 2026 WBC in March.

Curacao Professional Baseball League Notes

The Curacao Professional Baseball league for the 2026 season will only be three games for the regular season from January 31 until February 2 with three teams participating: Curacao Goats, Curacao Suns, and Willemstad Cannons, with all games being played at Tio Daou Ballpark.

The 2026 Curacao Professional Baseball league championship game will be on February 3 at Tio Daou Ballpark at 8 p.m. Atlantic Standard Time.

SDLA Background (2025)

The first year of the SDLA was from January 24-30, 2025 in Nicaragua at Estadio Nacional Soberanía in Managua, Estadio Roberto Clemente in Masaya, and Estadio Rigoberto López Pérez in Leon.

The teams that participated at the 2025 SDLA event were champions of all leagues in the 2024-25 winter league seasons that featured the Curacao Professional Baseball league with the Curacao Goats, Panama ProBeis – Aguilas Metropolitanas, Club DAOM – Liga Argentina de Béisbol, Leones de Leon – Liga de Béisbol Profesional Nacional in Nicaragua, the Caimanes de Barranquilla – Liga Profesional De Béisbol Colombia, and the Lenadores Las Tunas of the Cuban Serie Nacional.

The leagues that had seasons in 2024 were the Liga Argentina de Béisbol, Curaçao Professional Baseball League and Cuban Serie Nacional.

The 2024-25 winter league seasons were held with the Liga de Béisbol Profesional Nacional, Liga Profesional De Béisbol Colombia, and Panama ProBeis.

The Curacao Goats went 5-0 in the preliminary round of the 2025 SDLA, and were knocked out of the semifinals in a 7-0 defeat by the Aguilas Metropolitanas.

The Aguilas Metropolitanas won 3-1 in the 2025 SDLA championship game to the Leones de Leon in the event’s first year.

The SDLA is a revamp secondary event to the Caribbean Series, and also replaces the former event, Latin American Series, which took place from 2013 until the tournament ceased in 2019.
