The 32nd Honkbalweek Haarlem opens under the first Code Red heat warning ever issued in the Netherlands, with the Italy–Czech Republic opener pushed to Tuesday. But tonight’s game is on: the host Netherlands faces the International Globetrotters — a team whose roster plays European pro ball all year. WBN’s Matt Tallarini reports from Haarlem.
Five of the six teams at Honkbalweek Haarlem 2026 are nations. The sixth has no flag. The International Globetrotters are a barnstorming all-star team of overseas pros assembled by Baseball Jobs Overseas — four-time Finkstonball champions who played Team Italy and Team Czechia in Milan this year. Meet international baseball’s most fascinating roster-construction story.
Honkbal is the Dutch word for baseball — and Honkbalweek Haarlem is the tournament that hosted Paul Skenes, Dylan Crews, and Wyatt Langford in 2022, years before they were MLB names. Here’s what honkbal is, who’s playing in 2026 (including world No. 2 Chinese Taipei and MLB All-Star Jurickson Profar’s Curaçao), and the full schedule with U.S. times.
Japan withdrew. The Dominican Republic couldn’t fund the trip. In their place: the Czech Republic and the International Globetrotters at Pim Mulier, June 26–July 4.
