The Charros de Jalisco will host the Leones del Escogido at Estadio Panamericano on Oct. 4-5 in a preseason series that pits the defending champions of the Dominican Republic’s LIDOM and Mexico’s Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacifico against each other.
The two teams will meet in Guadalajara at Estadio Panamericano, the Charros’ home ballpark, in the Serie del Tequila, with the game scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 4, scheduled to start at 6 p.m. local time, and Sunday, Oct. 5’s game starting at 5 p.m. local time, according to an Instagram post from both teams and the LAMP.
At the 2025 Caribbean Series in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico, the Leones defeated the Charros 2-0 to take their fifth Caribbean Series title and first since 2012. Founded in 1921, the Leones play at Estadio Quisqueya Juan Marichal in Santo Domingo, which they share with the Tigres del Licey, and they’ve won 17 LIDOM titles.
The Charros are unique in Mexican baseball, operating franchises in each of Mexico’s top professional leagues. In the summer, the organization has operated a team in the Liga Mexicana de Beisbol for the last two seasons after purchasing the Mariachis de Guadalajara franchise and rebranding it as the Charros. In the winter, the organization’s Liga ARCO Mexicana franchise has won the league title three times since it moved to Guadalajara for Guasave in 2014, though the Charros have yet to win winter baseball’s ultimate prize at the Caribbean Series.
