Chinese Taipei Claims Its Ticket to the 2025 Little League Baseball World Series

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. –  Chinese Taipei will once again be represented in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, as Tung-Yuan Little League (Taipei, Chinese Taipei) took home the Asia-Pacific Region Championship title with a 3-0 win over South Korea in the championship game to punch its ticket to the 2025 Little League Baseball® World Series, Presented by T-Mobile (LLBWS).

Tung-Yuan LL went 6-1 in this year’s region tournament, only falling to South Korea’s North Seoul B Little League early in the tournament by one run. This will the fourth-straight trip to Williamsport for Chinese Taipei as the representative for the Asia-Pacific Region, starting with Fu-Lin Little League (Taipei, Chinese Taipei) earning the bid in 2022. This year will also be the 33rd time that Chinese Taipei will appear in the LLBWS, which dates back to 1969 when that year’s representative won the World Series Championship title. Tung-Yuan Little League made its last, and only other trip to Williamsport back in 2015, finishing the tournament with a 2-2 overall record.

In addition to ranking fourth in total LLBWS appearances among international countries, Chinese Taipei is well-represented in both the event’s team and individual record books. It has claimed 17 of the 37 championships won by international teams and holds the record for most consecutive championship game appearances (6). The country has also pitched two perfect games and did not allow a single hit throughout the 1973 title run. Its 1995 championship matchup against Texas drew an estimated crowd of 42,000, making it the fourth-highest attended game in LLBWS history.

Thailand and the Philippines, both of which have never made it to Williamsport in the event’s history, rounded out the top four teams in pool play of the 2025 Asia-Pacific Region Tournament, each finishing with a 4-2 overall record.

The first-round matchups for the 2025 LLBWS were announced on June 11 during National Little League Week and just one week after the anniversary of the first-ever Little League game. Tung-Yuan Little League will square off to face the Mexico Region winner in Game 7 of the tournament on Thursday, August 14, at 5 p.m. at Volunteer Stadium.

The 2025 Little League Baseball World Series, presented by T-Mobile, is set to kick off on Wednesday, August 13, with the World Series Championship game scheduled for August 24. Further information for the LLBWS, including visitor information and schedules, is available at LittleLeague.org/WorldSeries.
