On Tuesday, it was announced that Cincinnati Bearcats head coach Jordan Bischel received a contract extension through the 2031 season.
Cincinnati is coming off a solid season in 2025 with Bischel at the helm. In the head coach’s second season with the program, he led the Bearcats to a 33-26 record and a 16-14 record in Big 12 play.
The 33 wins that Cincinnati had in 2025 are the most they have had in a season since 2008.
After two seasons, Bischel has 65 total wins as the head coach of the Bearcats.
Cincinnati also made the NCAA Tournament this past season for the first time since 2019. They were the three seed in the Knoxville regional.
In a Cincinnati Athletics press release about the extension, Bischel discussed his gratitude for the Bearcats baseball program.
“Cincinnati has quickly become home for Katie, myself, and our family,” Bischel said. “Along with our coaching staff, I am incredibly excited about the trajectory of our baseball program and athletics department. This agreement is a reflection of a shared vision of President [Neville] Pinto, John Cunningham and his team, and our baseball staff. I am incredibly grateful and excited to be leading our baseball program for years to come.”
Before being the head coach of the Bearcats for the past two seasons, Bischel spent five seasons coaching the Central Michigan Chippewas.
In those five seasons, he had a record of 177-80 and piled up 101 wins in Mid-American Conference (MAC) play.
He led the Chippewas to three 40-win seasons, two conference regular season titles, and two conference tournament titles.
Central Michigan also made three NCAA Tournaments under Bischel in 2019, 2021, and 2022.
