Cincinnati Bearcats infielder Quinton Coats is the current leader in home runs in college baseball.
The sophomore has 18 home runs this season with a .376 batting average and a 1.415 OPS. He also has seven doubles, 45 RBIs, and an on-base percentage of .461.
Along with being the home run leader, Coats also leads the Big 12 Conference in hits (41) and RBIs.
On Saturday, March 21, Coats had a three-home run game against the Utah Utes. The Bearcats won that game 20-10 and won the weekend series against the Utes as well.
This breakout season for Coats comes after he had 111 at-bats in 2025. He finished that season with a .315 batting average, six home runs, and 16 RBIs.
Coats and his impact on Cincinnati’s offense
Coats has played a major role in Cincinnati becoming a formidable offense within the Big 12.
The Bearcats are third in the conference in home runs with 43 as a team. The only teams with more home runs are Oklahoma State and Arizona State.
Cincinnati is also third in the Big 12 in RBIs (205), second in hits (283), and in the top five in batting average (.316).

The Cincinnati Bearcats have a 19-7 overall record. They are 3-3 in Big 12 play this season after weekend series against both Utah and BYU.
Their next game is Tuesday, March 24, against the Xavier Musketeers. The cross-town matchup is at Hayden Field in Cincinnati, and the first pitch is at 3 p.m. EST.
