Kyle Schwarber went 5-6 with three home runs and six RBIs, including the go-ahead home run at the top of the ninth. Clay Holmes blew another save, and the White Sox keep on losing. One thing from each MLB game last night.

  • Rangers 7, Yankees 4

The Rangers scored four runs in the ninth thanks to a Wyatt Langford walk-off grand slam to beat the Yankees. Clay Holmes leads the MLB in blown saves after picking up another one, and the Yankees now trail the Orioles by a half-game in the AL East.

  • Phillies 10, Blue Jays 9

Kyle Schwarber dominated at the dish in a game that saw 34 combined hits. Blue Jays led by one going into the top of the ninth before Schwarber put the Phils ahead with a three-run shot to right field.

  • Orioles 9, White Sox 0

The Orioles scored nine runs on nine hits to earn the “W” and regain the lead in the AL East. The White Sox have now lost 12 straight games and have a -310 run differential, which is close to the 1932 Boston Red Sox (-349) in terms of having the worst run differential in MLB history.

  • Nationals 6, Marlins 2

In a game with no playoff repercussions and two franchises focused on next year, the Nats hit two home runs to win on the road.

  • Rays 2, Twins 1

Rays small-ball their way to victory, scoring two runs in the fourth via base hits. Twins remain in the second wildcard spot in the AL.

  • Mets 7, Red Sox 2

The Mets use a four-run eighth to pull away. Francisco Lindor hit his home run No. 30 on the year and drove in three. The Mets have won eight of ten and now sit a half-game back from the third wildcard spot in the NL.

  • Braves 3, Rockies 0

Chris Sale picks up win No. 16 on the year, going seven innings, allowing six hits, and striking out nine. He picked up strikeout No. 200 on the year and has found his Cy Young form this season.

  • Guardians 7, Royals 1

Guardians shortstop Bryan Rocchio hit a two-run home run in the seventh to pull away. The Royals have lost seven straight and now trail Cleveland by 5.5 games in the AL Central.

  • Pirates 5, Cubs 0

Paul Skenes picked up win No. 9 on the season going five shutout innings and striking out six. Pirates third baseman Jared Triolo hit a three run shot in the seventh to get some needed insurance runs on the board.

  • Cardinals 7, Brewers 4 (F/12)

Paul Goldschmidt hit a home run and drove in three to help the Cardinals steal one late in Milwaukee. The Brewers still hold the largest division lead in baseball.

  • Dodgers 6, Angels 2 (F/10)

The Dodgers score four in the top of the tenth to win in Shohei Ohtani’s return to Anaheim. Mookie Betts hit a three-run home run in the top of the tenth to put the finishing touches on the win.

  • A’s 3, Mariners 2

Seth Brown hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth for the A’s to steal one at home. The A’s are 31-22 since July 1 and while this season is lost, they could be a team that plays the spoiler role down the stretch.

  • Diamondbacks 8, Giants 7

The Giants score four in the bottom of the eighth but their late rally came up short. Randal Grichuk hit two home runs for Arizona and they stay 2.5 games above the Braves for the second NL wildcard spot.
