ARLINGTON, Texas- The Clemson Tigers have moved to 2-0 to begin 2025 after demolishing the Arizona Wildcats 16-5 in Globe Life Field.
The Tigers finished with 17 hits, and eight of their players had RBIs. Lead-off man Dominic Listi had 4 RBIs, and his teammate and Clemson third baseman Josh Paino had three.
The Tigers batted .625 with runners in scoring position. The offense looked the best out of any team that has played thus far in the Shriners Children’s College Showdown in Arlington.
Great offense was also responsible for Clemson’s previous win in the event against the Oklahoma State Cowboys. In that matchup, five hitters in the Tigers’ lineup had an RBI.

It is no secret that Golden Spikes candidate Cam Cannarella is the special ingredient that Clemson needs to be a great team. Against Oklahoma State, he struggled and went 0-4. However, he came alive on Saturday against Arizona and had three doubles on a day where he went 4-6 at the plate.
The three doubles in this one game tied the school record for doubles in a game. This was according to Flo Sports in their postgame interview with Clemson’s center fielder.
