The transfer portal addition of Nate Savoie has paid off for the Clemson Tigers so far in 2026.
In 15 at-bats, he has 11 hits, including two doubles and two home runs. Savoie also has eight RBIs.
All four games the sophomore has played in have been multi-hit games.
Savoie talked about what it has been like to play at Clemson after transferring in from Loyola Marymount.
“It is really special,” Savoie said after Clemson’s 3-2 win over the Army Black Knights on February 13. “Being able to play in front of fans was a game-changer. Emotions were flowing, and the energy was high.”
Savoie and his 2025 season at Loyola Marymount
During his freshman season playing for the Loyola Marymount Lions, Savoie stepped on the scene in a huge way.
He had a .300 batting average with 14 doubles, 20 home runs, and 61 RBIs. Savoie was the 2025 West Coast Conference (WCC) Player of the Year and was first-team All-WCC as well.
One of his biggest games of the 2025 season came against the Gonzaga Bulldogs on May 3. He had four hits and three RBIs. Two of his four hits in that game were a double and a home run.
Savoie was one of the best freshmen in college baseball on the West Coast last season.

The Clemson Tigers are 4-0 to start the 2026 college baseball season and are coming off an 11-1 win over the Charlotte 49ers on Tuesday, February 17.
Their next game will be on Friday, February 20, against the Bryant Bulldogs. The first pitch is at 4 p.m. EST, and the game is at Clemson’s home ballpark, Doug Kingsmore Stadium.
