During a game against Stanford on Sunday, Clemson Tigers utility man Tryston McCladdie left the game after getting hit in the face with a pitch.
McCladdie was out for Clemson’s next game against the Santa Clara Broncos on Monday, April 6. The Tigers won that game 6-4.
During the win over Santa Clara, the Clemson Athletic Network stated that McCladdie had multiple fractures in his face. However, the Tigers received good news as the utility man’s injuries will not require surgery.
According to The Clemson Insider, there is no official timeline for McCladdie to make a return to the field.

McCladdie is putting together the best season of his career at Clemson. He is also one of the Tigers’ best hitters.
The utility man from Harlem, Ga. has a .339 batting average, a .430 on-base percentage, 13 stolen bases, and eight home runs. McCladdie also has 35 RBIs this season.
Clemson is also without two other hitters in Collin Priest and Jarren Purify, who are going through injuries themselves. Purify has a fractured finger he suffered during Clemson’s series against Notre Dame. Priest has not played in a game this season due to a hamstring injury.
