Coleton Brady Discusses Decision to Commit to the LSU Tigers

According to Inside LSU BaseballColeton Brady is the number one-ranked right-handed pitcher from the state of New York in the 2026 high school class.

He recently sat down with World Baseball Network to talk about why he chose to commit to the LSU Tigers.

I mean, LSU just felt like home,” Brady said. “Walking into Alex Box Stadium for the first time was surreal — it was a no-brainer. The atmosphere is on a different level. It’s the powerhouse of college baseball, so for me, the decision was pretty easy.”

Brady mentioned MLB pitcher Paul Skenes as his favorite LSU pitcher to watch growing up.

Playing for TNXL Academy in Florida

The right-handed pitching prospect currently plays high school baseball for TNXL Academy.

The TNXL program is meant for elite high school prospects. These players travel down to Ocoee, Fla. While they are at the academy, they prepare themselves for the elite levels of the game of baseball.

In Brady’s case, the next elite level may be playing college baseball in Baton Rouge for the LSU Tigers. The pitching prospect talked more about what it is like playing for TNXL Academy.

“It’s been a huge jump,” said Brady. “I came down here from New York, and I’m living on my own now. It was a big step coming out of my sophomore year, but 100 percent worth it. The competition here is on another level — that’s what helped me take the next step in my career.”

Brady and LSU’s Elite 2026 Recruiting Class

According to Perfect Game, the LSU Tigers have the second-best recruiting class in the 2026 cycle. The only team that currently has a better recruiting class is Vanderbilt.

The LSU class contains ten top 100 prospects and 23 total prospects committed to playing in Baton Rouge.

Brady talked about the talent in LSU’s 2026 recruiting class and a visit they all took for a college football game at Tiger Stadium.

I was just up there for the Texas A&M game and got to hang out with a lot of them,” Brady stated regarding the Tigers’ 2026 recruiting class. “It’s a great group of guys. When we all get to campus, I think we’re going to do some really special things and keep winning for the program.”
