The Los Angeles Dodgers sent Colombian right-handed pitcher Nabil Crismatt outright to Triple-A Oklahoma City on April 5.

Crismatt, 28, was born in Barranquilla, Colombia, and made his big league debut on August 17, 2020, during the 2020 regular season with the Cardinals. He has played four seasons in the MLB with the St. Louis Cardinals in 2020, the San Diego Padres from 2021-23, and the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2023.

Crismatt elected free agency on October 10, 2023, before signing a minor league contract with the Dodgers on December 12, 2023. He was assigned to the organization’s affiliate Triple-A Oklahoma City franchise on December 20, 2023.

He appeared in six games out of the bullpen during spring training and threw 5.1 innings, posting an 8.44 ERA. He allowed six hits, five earned runs, one home run, five walks, six strikeouts, and a 2.063 WHIP.

Crismatt came out of the bullpen and recorded his first win of the season on March 31 against the Cardinals. He threw two innings, allowing one hit and three strikeouts while helping the Dodgers advance to 4-2.

During the 2023-24 LIDOM season with the Tigres del Licey, Crismatt started in four games and posted a 0-1 record with a 7.24 ERA. He pitched 13.2 innings, allowing 16 hits, 11 earned runs, one home run, six walks, six strikeouts, and a 1.610 WHIP.

Last season with the Padres and the Diamondbacks, Crismatt posted an 0-2 record with an 8.31 ERA in eight games out of the bullpen. He pitched 13 innings and allowed 12 earned runs, three home runs, seven walks, and 12 strikeouts.

Crismatt also split his time between Triple-A El Paso, with the Padres organization, and Triple-A Reno, with the Diamondbacks organization, during the 2023 regular season. During his time with both Triple-A teams, he threw 59 innings, posting a 5-3 record, including a 6.86 ERA, in 23 appearances and nine starts, allowing 71 hits, 45 earned runs, 14 home runs, 23 walks, 55 strikeouts, and a 1.593 WHIP.

Crismatt elected free agency from the Padres on June 25, 2023, before signing a minor league contract with the Diamondbacks on June 30. He was released from the Diamondbacks on August 2 and signed back to the organization on August 8. He finished the 2023 regular season in Arizona.

Crismatt played for the Colombian national team at the 2015 Pan American Games and the 2017 and 2023 World Baseball Classic. He took the mound in Colombia’s 5-4 win against Mexico this past March, allowing one earned run on three hits in four innings. Colombia went 1-3 at the 2023 World Baseball Classic, ending up with the same record as Great Britain, and will have to qualify for the 2026 WBC due to the Total Quality Balance run-differential rule stated by the World Baseball Softball Confederation and losing to Great Britain in Pool C in Phoenix.

In 2022, Crismatt split his time between Triple-A El Paso and the Padres. Crismatt threw 50 games out of the bullpen and started one game for the Padres, posting a 2.94 ERA pitching in 67.1 innings, allowing 57 hits, 22 earned runs, five home runs, 22 walks, 65 strikeouts, and a 1.173 WHIP.

During Crismatt’s MLB career, he has appeared in 109 games with one start and has a lifetime 3.76 ERA. He has pitched 170 innings, allowing 169 hits, 71 earned runs, 20 home runs, 54 walks, 156 strikeouts, and a 1.610 WHIP.
