Conference USA (C-USA) has had plenty of teams who have gotten off to hot starts in 2025.
Currently, the conference has eight teams above .500. The four teams that sit atop C-USA have nine wins or more.
In first place is the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers. They have an 11-1 record with their only loss coming against Murray State.
The Hilltoppers’ most recent win was against Tennessee Tech on the road. They put up 15 runs in what is their sixth-straight victory.
In second place sits the Florida International Panthers. They are 11-3 this season. Despite a recent loss against the Miami Hurricanes in LoanDepot Park, the Panthers had a four-game sweep against Merrimack.
In those four games, FIU scored 43 runs total. This includes an 18-run performance last Sunday.
The third place team in Conference USA is the Jacksonville State Gamecocks. They have a 10-3 record and have had good, back-to-back weekends.
They swept Arkansas State in three games this past weekend and the weekend before that, they swept Akron.
The Gamecocks shut out both of those teams during their respective weekend series against them during games on Feb. 22 and Feb. 28.
The fourth place team in the league are the Dallas Baptist Patriots. They just had one of the most impressive midweek games out of anyone in college baseball on Tuesday as they shut out the Oklahoma Sooners 11-0.

This was their 9th win of the season as they now sit with a 9-3 record. The win against Oklahoma was also the third-straight one for the Pats as they were coming off two wins this past weekend against Oral Roberts.
Conference USA has some big-time mid major teams that have flexed so far to begin the 2025 college baseball season.
College baseball fans should keep an eye out on C-USA to see how some of these teams develop. They may become threats to some power conference opponents in regionals once the NCAA Tournament rolls around.
