Copa América de Béisbol: Colombia, Brazil, Venezuela Announce Staffs; Venues In Panama Confirmed

The Copa América de Béisbol is set to begin in less than three weeks with Panama now hosting the entire tournament across multiple venues. As the event nears, several nations have announced their coaching staffs and some have announced final and expanded rosters.

COLOMBIA

Manager – José Mosquera, who will also manage Colombia at the 2026 World Baseball Classic. Managed Colombia during the WBC qualifiers in March, leading them to an easy qualification. He is the current manager of the DSL Pirates Gold and general manager of Caimanes de Barranquilla in the Liga Beisbol Profesional Colombiano. Mosquera led Colombia to its first Caribbean Series championship in 2022, a Pan American Games gold medal in 2023, and a medal at the 2018 Central American and Caribbean Games, the country’s first in 72 years.

Bench Coach – Jaime del Valle, who is taking over as Caimanes manager for 2025–26.

Hitting Coach – Brallan Pérez, a former minor leaguer who reached Triple-A in 2017.

Pitching Coach – Dayán Díaz, a former MLB pitcher who held the same role during March’s qualifiers and he pitched for Colombia at the 2017 and got the save in their first ever win in the tournament.

BRAZIL

Manager – Reinaldo Sato, a former professional player in Japan who represented Brazil at the 2013 World Baseball Classic and 2017 qualifiers.

Pitching Coach – Andre Rienzo, a former MLB pitcher with 42 appearances and a 5.90 ERA. He held the same role for Brazil at the WBC qualifiers.

Hitting Coach – Marcos Guimarães.

Infield Coach – Pedro Okuda.

Catching Coach – Marcio Kikuchi.

VENEZUELA

Manager – Néstor Corredor, a former minor league manager with 10 seasons in Milwaukee’s system was announced as manager of Venezuela for Copa América. He’s currently the Brewers’ major league field coordinator.

Bench Coach – Erick Salcedo, a former Los Angeles Angels and Baltimore Orioles minor leaguer and current Arizona and Latin American field coordinator for the Angels.

First Base Coach – Germán Meléndez, the bench coach for Triple-A Durham in Tampa Bay’s system.

Pitching Coach – Jorge Córdova, who served in the same role for Venezuela at the 2024 WBSC Premier12.

Hitting coach – Raúl Padrón, the current hitting coach for Triple-A El Paso in the San Diego Padres organization.

Bullpen Coach – Rolando Vallés, a former minor league pitcher.

CUBA

The Federacion Cubana de Beisbol y Softbol announced a 59-man pre-selection roster Tuesday featuring several familiar names from past World Baseball Classic teams and former MLB players, including Alfredo Despaigne, Alexei Ramírez, Erisbel Arruebarrena, Yoelkis Guibert, Roel Santos and Frederich Cepeda. Unlike its WBC roster, this group will be made up mostly of players from Cuba’s Serie Nacional.

PUERTO RICO

Puerto Rico was the first nation to announce its 27-man roster for the tournament.

OF Rubén Castro – Castro ranked top 10 in average and OPS last winter in the LBPRC with Santurce. He posted a .974 OPS and .396 average for Québec in the Frontier League this season.

P Luis Cruz – The former Astros minor leaguer posted a 0.95 ERA in 38 innings for Mayagüez last winter. He’s expected to be one of Puerto Rico’s top arms. He was named the top pitcher in Puerto Rico’s Double-A Superior Baseball League in 2025.

Playoff Format – The top three teams in each group advance to the Super Round, with the top four teams in the Super Round advancing. The top two teams will advance to the Championship Game, while the next two play in the third place game.

Super Round – Nov. 19–21, 2025
Championship and Third Place Game – Nov. 22, 2025

What’s At Stake – Five teams will qualify for the 2027 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru. Four will qualify for the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo.
