Cuban OF Andy Pages Called Up To Los Angeles Dodgers

The Los Angeles Dodgers called up Cuban outfielder Andy Pages, Francys Romero of beisbolfr.com reported on April 16.

According to MLBpipeline.com, Pages is ranked No. 94 overall as a Major League Baseball prospect and No. 3 in the Dodgers organization.

Pages went 1-4 with two strikeouts in their 6-2 win on Tuesday night against the Washington Nationals and roped a line drive single to right field during his first at-bat in the bigs against starting pitcher Patrick Corbin.

On Wednesday, Pages went 0 for 3, struck out twice, and grounded out to second base during the Dodgers’ 2-0 home loss to the Nationals.

Pages, 23, was born in Pinar del Rio, Cuba, and signed with the Dodgers for $300,000 during the international signing period in October 2017, according to his MLBpipeline.com profile.

He left the island in October of 2017, before his signing with the Dodgers. Pages also played in Cuba’s Provincial U-15 and U-18 leagues before leaving the island.

He has played six seasons in the minors with the Dodgers since he made his professional debut at 17 in the Dominican Summer League complex level on June 1, 2018.

Pages was selected twice as a MiLB.com Organization All-Star in 2019 and 2021.

Pages played in 15 games with Triple-A Oklahoma City to begin the 2024 season and batted .371 with 73 plate appearances, smacking 23 hits, three doubles, one triple, five home runs, 15 RBI, two stolen bases, eight walks, and 13 strikeouts before him being called up.

He started in 15 games in the outfield for Triple-A Oklahoma City during 2024.

During spring training, Pages played in seven games and, with 21 plate appearances, batted .471, ripping eight hits, one double, one triple, two home runs, nine RBI, two walks, and five strikeouts.

Last season, Pages was optioned to Double-A Tulsa on March 15, 2023, and played in 33 games, hitting .284 with 142 plate appearances, roping 31 hits, 12 doubles, one triple, three home runs, 25 RBI, seven stolen bases, 25 walks, and 32 strikeouts.

During his six seasons in the minors, Pages has played in 416 games with a lifetime average of .908 OPS in 1 819 plate appearances, smacking 393 hits, 100 doubles, eight triples, 94 home runs, 299 RBI, 38 stolen bases, 238 walks, 433 strikeouts, and .908 OPS.
